When did I call our loss to Wake a fluke?

The argument that "they lost 1 game, and we lost 4 is just silly."

See poster above that used this as logic.

Congratulations. I was in attendance and sober as a judge.
We beat a good team. Get over it.

I was serious about that statement. Oklahoma exposed them big time. The big 12 south was all hype that year. Tech had one good win and that was at home against Texas on a real --->fluke<--- play. They never faced a defense all year. Everyone of those big 12 south teams got smoked in bowls except for Texas. They were fortunate enough to face a down OSU team.

We lost to Bama by 4 points that year after holding them scoreless in the 2nd half and scoring 17 unanswered points with the ball in the last minute on their end of the field with a chance to win.
We lost to Vanderbilt because McCluster fumbled the ball on their 1 yard line as he was about to score the winning touchdown.
We lost to Wake as we scored the go ahead touchdown and with less than a minute left the ended up scoring.
Yet these same Rebs won't acknowledge (and even go so far to make fun of us) for mentioning being less than a foot from beating LSU in 2009, Auburn in 2011, and Arkansas in 2010 (State fumbled inside the 1 yard line in overtime without being hit), losing to BCSNC Cam by 3, and losing to 2011 11-game winner South Carolina by 2. All moral victories, for sure, but still valid when talking about Mullen's overall coaching ability.
I still don't understand why everyone feels the need to decide RIGHT NOW whether Mullen is a good coach or not. He's only had 3 seasons as a head coach.
Mullen is 21-17 in the toughest division in the history of college football.
Saban went 25-22 his first four seasons at Michigan State.
Miles went 21-16 his first three seasons at OK State (and 28-21 his first four, and then he was hired by LSU).
Spurrier went 20-13-1 his three seasons at Duke, then was hired by Florida. After a few years in the NFL, Spurrier was 21-16 his first three seasons at South Carolina.
Chizik went 5-19 in his two seasons at Iowa State, and 13-24 his first three years as a head coach.

Good point, though. That's really helpful to the thread. We have not won in a really long time. I totally see how that settles the debate regarding the 2008 squad.
This thread is fricking retarded. None of you will discuss anything rationally, and others try to start arguments that are irrelevant to the thread (kind of like OM football amirite?). I'm not mad, and I'm not surprised. It's literally like fighting with an immature younger brother.

Good one. It's about as relevant in this discussion as yall's astounding 9-6 bowl record.
