No issue with Clark's greatness being recognized, she deserves it. But Pete's greatness, by many, is focused just on his scoring record. Yet many of the YouTube videos on his game showcase his magical passing & dribbling skills. HOF Celtic great Bob Cousey, for decades considered the best point guard in League history...till Magic came along....said Pete made passes he'd never seen before.

His dribbling drills were insane. You can find a few videos of his on youtube.

If she played against men, how many points would she have? 500?

He was doing things that would put the Harlem Globetrotters to shame only he did it against real competition.

His skill and confidence level was through the roof great.

4 years
3 point line
Shot clock

With that, if you ever saw him live, you know. He is still one of the most searched people on YouTube videos and he’s been dead 35 years. I was giving a talk to some youth a few years back and they were arguing about Michael and LeBron. I asked about Chamberlin, Alcindor, Russell, Cousey, and Maravich and they went to “who”. So I gave them an assignment for lunch - which was a 2 hr break to eat and use their phones. Go to YouTube and watch videos about those players. This was about 50 total youth from 10-12.
To the kid, they came back with the same name - Pistol Pete Maravich. They couldn’t believe what they saw. I told them I was in college at LSU when he played and saw that live many many times. They were amazed.

but he was over the top in creating shots and scoring.

His dribbling and passing were probably his most amazing gifts.

Is this like UConn’s women winning streak comparable to UCLA men? What a joke. She’s a good female player, but come on.

Bitch please, show some gotdam respect for an old school GOAT. Journalism is dead.

With today's style of play & more importantly rules... Pistol would be in the convo of greatest basketball players of all time.

Forget the fact that only had a 3pt FG line the last 85 games of his pro career, what we saw of his entire game was the handcuffed/watered down version he was allowed to play.
