It's extremely easy to figure out... when Todd, Trotter or Frazier is his QB.

Not really. The 2009 offense was very potent and Todd broke some AU passing records.
2011 had a lot of issues that included Frazier and Mosely at QB.

The problem with stopping it is not having to make this choice or that or between 3 choices. A defender has to make a choice between 4 options on any given play in a variety of formations.

Marshall was hurt in multiple games last season and he is, from what I know, in the same condition physically. I think there's a chance he gets trucked this season running near the sideline and then we'll see if J Johnson has the great passing game being eluded to in practices.

I think if AU if highly successful on Offense again this year, it will change the hiring practice for new HCs this year. Look for schools to raid the AU staff, trying to duplicate what he does. If the league turns into the HUNH SEC, then it will be earier to face Gus's Offense. The shock of only seeing it two or three times a year has hurt the Defenses built to stop the Power Offenses.

Getting tired of seeing little bro compete with us

I though little Nicky had it figured out. Isn't he working on getting the NCAA to change the rules for him?

Coach Saban shut out Gus in 2011.

Of course that was with probably the greatest defense in CFB history, but who's to say how good 2014 Bama will be?

Depends on what AU's record is. Teams AU beat by more than 8 points last year:

And that had way more to do with our defense than our offense. Our offense was night and day from the year before and should improve even more this year. We gave up way too many total yards and points last year on defense. We were damn good in the redzone and on 3rd down, but we have to improve in other areas on D to win with our schedule this year.

And when it comes down to it, I don't give a damn if we win every game by 1 point, although it'll probably take a few years off my life, as long as we win the game.

Isn't this kind of like asking if this is the year Muschamp/Saban's defense is going to be figured out and lit up?

Or do only offenses get "figured out"?

The officials didn't have it figured out last year. That was a big thing. AU got away with a lot of things that should have been called penalties, but the officials were discombobulated. They also sped up getting the ball in play for the HUNH. That's a no no. It should be methodical, the same for every Offense. They're SUPPOSED to have all that worked out for this upcoming season.

The SEC will continue to experiment with an eighth official at one game each week to help ensure consistency between plays.

"We'll call him the center judge," Shaw said. "The center judge will spot the ball on every play and will interact with the referee on substitutions. That's going to free up our umpire and our wing guys to go do their pre-snap routine. I'm encouraged that it's really helpful to us. That's the intent. It's not to go faster. It's not go slower. It's a consistent pace."

Shaw added that the SEC has worked with officials from other leagues on the issue.
"What we're saying is when the play is dead, the umpire or the person spotting the ball, you will not walk, and you will not sprint. We're calling it a 'crisp jog.' We're trying to get all of our umpires on the same page on a crisp jog.
"I think what you're going to see is very consistent work nationally."

It is figured out, execution-wise. But actually stopping it consistently has been the main issue - it is relentless and comes right at you non-stop.
