Why would the SEC agree to a ‘salary cap’ the same as the ACC or Big-12?

Source of the data is https://nil-ncaa.com/…where they post this table:

Seems crazy for the SEC, or even the top of the Big10 to want this. If you scroll down the link provided past the table I posted they break it down per school. If you select the Top 50 you see how fast schools fall below the $20.5 million as 22% of revenue.

OSU and Michigan make a shite ton, damn.

Who wants this to pass?

Because Revenue does not equal NIL. If you're a big 10/SEC school, you this number to be as low as possible bc in limits the ability of others to compete from university/revenue funds. Why would Texas want to pay more out of its personal pocket when it knows its fanbase will boat race Texas Tech in NIL giving? Despite popular opinion, NIL giving will not change with this bc there's no way to even to begin regulate it and enforce it, so it'll continue as is.

The schools are not party to NIL contracts. They can't cap them.

I feel like some of you don't understand what NIL is.

Because agreeing to the same cap as the little 2 conferences means we still get the same athletes we want but for less money. A 5 star is still going to choose the SEC over the Big 12 for the same money.

My son has an agent and has signed an NIL deal starting June 1st. I don’t understand.

With the revenue sharing, NIL is likely to go away except for cases where a student really is getting paid to endorse products.

It will also be ‘signing bonus’ type acquisitions. One time, or yearly checks in addition to their Profit Sharing checks.

Why are we paying players? Just drop all scholarships and make players play their win way and forbid any kind of NIL so you can't come to a school and play if you are getting paid. You guys just can't see what's coming, I said the same thing when they started passing out stipends, it would lead to a lad of BS, they set a precedent.

BLOW IT ALL UP,..........Only walk on's are welcome,

It's moronic paying high school kids for getting a scholarship. JOKE

Yeah, a long way from Arkansas to get a bigger check at Florida and it must have helped or you wouldn’t have done it. You and your agent are probably plotting where to go next. Don’t pull that innocent crap on us travel ball dad, you have a plan.

Come on man. You can’t actually believe boosters are going to stop getting an edge where they can.

Just the scholarship stipend at Ark is twice what he getting total at Fla and that was tax free at Ark.

The very good senior starter at Fla won’t make what the true freshman at Ark will make this year.

His agent was fricked in that negotiation. Yea but he’s the number 1 ranked 2025 kicker…OK, we’ll pay him as the best backup kicker in college football…how does $200/mo sound? lol.

There will eventually be a players union, just too much money flying around. Salary caps will more than likely come as a result of collective bargaining and be shared across all D 1 conferences.
