Jesus Christ, these numbers make it look like Kevin Sumlin (with the help of Johnny Cokehead) was doing the impossible at aTm: nearly maintaining his level of coaching performance.

Or maybe, just maybe, a SEC-powered A&M is a different program than it was before.

It that was true, Sumlin wouldn't have been fired. No one is buying the narrative that A&M is anything different in the SEC than it was in the Big 12 until y'all win some hardware.

Charlie Strong's record at Louisville: 37-15
Charlie Strong's record at t.u.: 16-21
Charlie Strong's record at South Florida: 17-8

Strong had more wins in his two years at South Florida than he ever had at t.u.

Shaka Smart's record at Virginia Commonwealth: 163-56
Shaka Smart's record at t.u.: 71-66

Smart already has more losses in 4 seasons at t.u. than in 6 seasons at VCU.

The only conclusion you can draw when asking the question, "How is it that successful black coaches fail so horribly at t.u?" when coupled with the story of Beverly Kearney, who was fired for having a relationship with a student despite Major Applewhite doing the EXACT SAME THING while an assistant coach for t.u. and not being fired, there is only one conclusion you can possibly draw.

texas university (appropriately named the "40 acres") hates black people.

What does Charlie Strong being fired for his failure as a coach have to do with Sumlin being fired for his success cough cough race cough cough? You have already showed Strong's poor record at UT for being the reason he was fired so no spin.

David McWilliams had the same number of wins after 3 seasons as Strong did, yet he was given 5 years. McWilliams is white.

You have that reversed. In the Big 12 era the level of production Sumlin had would have gotten him a raise. He did such a better job in the W/L column than the two guys before him.

The difference is when we went to the SEC we raised our expectations for our program, and those raised expectations means that what Sumlin was doing wasn't good enough.

You are correct to be skeptical that us raising our expectations will raise the quality of our program until it actually produces more results, but at the same time its dishonest to say that a Big 12 A&M in a rundown stadium, swimming in debt, and with fringe top 20 recruiting classes is the same as a SEC A&M with a new 100k+ stadium, swimming in money, with consistent recruiting classes around or in the top 10.

I'm sure LSU would have retained a coach who drove off his starting and backup quarterbacks 6 days apart in year 4, or a coach who lost a game when leading 44-10 with 18 minutes left in year 6, or a coach who had this progression:

Year 1: 11-2 (bowl win)
Year 2: 9-4 (bowl win)
Year 3: 8-5 (bowl win, began season 5-0)
Year 4: 8-5 (bowl loss, began season 5-0)
Year 5: 8-5 (bowl loss, began season 6-0)
Year 6: 7-5

With 3 fewer loses and won a bowl game. Plus he played at Texas.

What does that have to do with Strong being fired? He didnt fire him.

Beverly Kearney, a coach who is a black, disabled lesbian woman, has sex with a student and is fired.

Major Applewhite, a coach who is a white Male, has sex with a student and gets a raise.

Klassic Klanhorns

Daryl KKK Royal would be proud.

Would it made you feel any better if she had been given a promotion and raise? Your point would only be valid if Sumlin was a lesbian.

Man, that school is cursed! All that money and the results are just inexcusable. Yet, somehow the fans are convinced they are a top program and lowly MSU owns them.

It's a wonderful community, filled with amazing support.
Apart from Internet malcontents, most people realize that.
Any SEC job would be worthy.
