To be able to defend your position when your dumbass blindly regurgitates unsupported claims you heard from butthurt LSU fans on an online forum?

I don’t think they really give a shite. Otherwise refs would be getting suspended and/or publicly reprimanded. There’s bit really any sort of accountability as far as I can tell.

Accountability is absolutely needed when it comes to officiating. The replay booth seems to be asleep at the wheel most of the time. The replay booth, which I assume has more than one guy in it, needs to be on top of everything.

The way the targeting rule is written, the call in the Aub/PSU was correct. The rule needs to be changed, imo. A penalty is one thing but to miss playing time is a completely different thing.

The SEC officials are no worse than any other conference's officials for the most part. They had two really bad ones this past weekend, counting the blown call in the MissSt/Mem game.

Something very lacking in society today...accountability.

FIRE the refs calling State's game...for sure.

Suspend the refs calling the Auburn game...for at least the rest of the season.

Consequences...

The reality is that SEC refs are just bad, and they often screw up big calls in ball games.

Anyone who remembers the 2009 Arkansas Florida game knows this isn't true

More controversy means water cooler talking heads all week and more watchers on game day.

The officiating is even worse in SEC basketball. At least the league cares about football, but they still can’t get it right

Why do the 13 SEC schools not named Alabama allow it to continue?

It’s going to take hiring full time refs like the NFL. These guys have other jobs or are retired from another profession.

Even if they hire full time refs the same thing is going to happen. There is only one solution to this and that is a "sky ref". One ref who sits in the box and can overturn or call any penalty on replay before the ball is snapped on the next play. No discussion with the refs on the field.

Still don’t understand how they gave Memphis that punt return touchdown. That was more egregious than a stolen election.

Cohen made a good point. The schools had to spend the money on video review equipment and the time and effort and expense that went into that should have fixed officiating and it didn't.

Lets give the on field officials the benefit of the doubt. They missed it and weren't entirely sure what to do so they let the play go on. Review will catch it. Then the booth review wasn't initiated from Birmingham.

If the booth review official assigned to the Mississippi State-Memphis game wanted to watch the Alabama-Florida game, they needed to let someone else be the MSU-Memphis booth review official.

Because the REC outbids them every time.

They are, but some schools can be very persuasive. You know what I mean, Vern?

I thought all the plays were supposed to be reviewed real time by some “expert” in the SEC office. If so how do they make so many bad calls?
