I know there was already a thread about this, but i couldn't sleep all night because i kept thinking to myself, why the hell were we in prevent defense? AJ didn't have a single completion in the whole 2nd half when we kept going after his arse.. I can guarantee we would've won that game if we played in our normal defense, without a 15 yard blanket for the receiver to have plenty of room to catch and plenty of time for AJ to throw. I know, shoulda woulda coulda.. Just wanted to vent this out of my chest so i can go back to sleep.

FYI: TJ is my next door neighbor, and a great friend of mine. I'll be sure to give him a hard time for beating us since he knows i am a huge LSU fan!

It is the absolute worst defense unless you are up by 3 scores. If I were a HC I would outright forbid any DC running it. You see so many teams lose because of it.

You blitzed out of man coverage on Yeldon's TD. That is the antithesis of prevent.

that's what happened when we were up 24-12 on you guys, we gave johnny PLENTY of room to throw and plenty of time. Same thing against SC, we were up 23-14, and gave Shaw All the time in the world. I knew it would come back to bight us. Alabama did exactly what we should have done at the end of the game. Blitz!

good question. here is another one, why did our runningbacks only have 22 attempts when they were rushing to the tune of 7ypc? if we had kept feeding them until lsu adjusted to stop them, AJ probably would have had a much better night and the D would not have been on the field for 40 minutes.

We blitzed a CB on all but two downs on that drive.

We didn't blitz until tj's td. we should have blitzed when they had the ball on their side of the 50. we didn't need to blitz corners when we know they were passing, we should have blitzed minter right down the gut.. where AJ was standing for days in the middle of the pocket.

They didn't have anything in the 2nd half. They were averaging -1 ypc after half. AJ didn't have a single completion until the last drive. we gave them a dose of their medicine from the championship game in the 2nd half until the final drive.

Who coined the term "prevent a win"? Chavis put the safety's too far back preventing the deep pass. That gave us the opportunity to do what we did.

Loston was most certainly in the game. I don't know if Reid was.
