The sec is not southeastern any more and I will tell you why. Reason for that is the mass commercialization of college ball. It has lost its flavor in the shadow of profit. The recent expansion proves why they only care about money. Texas and Misseri are not southeastern states. If they care about tradition they should scale back to 12 teams. But they dont care because it is all about money.

It is a shame the direction it has taken. Take a look at Alabama. Players from all over the country are clearly getting paid and act like spoilsports. Most sec athletes now are spoilsports. It is hardly southern in manner and all of the big name programs function like a cot dang business these days.

I lean toward LSU. Would like State if they didn't blow so bad. Thankfully things are looking better for State.

But F ol Miss

Texas answered the call 158 years ago ahead of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

“Texas answered the call 158 years ago ahead of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas.”

What a lie! Tennessee put more boys in Confederate gray than any other State for the simple fact we had the largest white population in the South after West Virginia split off from Virginia. More battles were fought in Tennessee than any other state except Virginia because the resistance began here, and not in Texas. Texas had a small population at the time and most of them were transplants from the southeast. Know you history dude!

Jimbo is about to start running the SEC and you’ll forget all about this.

Texas is perhaps the worst state in the South

Miserable cities (especially Houston), offensive landscape (flat and ugly), and some misplaced identity as pseudo cowboys.

I guarantee you that the vast majority of Americans would rather live in places like Charleston, SC or Nashville, TN than anywhere in Texas.

Also, A&M doesn’t even represent Texas. That would be the unfortunate responsibility of UT, as the flagship university. A&M is the backup school according to every Texan I know.

I'll take "Things I didn't expect to read on a message board in the year 2019" for $500, Alex.
