Texas had to sponge part of the US Space program from Alabama. Basically Texas took the dispatch part of the program....Alabama did the research and development, Florida did the launches, and Texas became the Taxi dispatch.
Astronauts- "Houston, we have a problem"
Houston- "Hell we do not understand the science, we will
put in a call to Marshall and get back to you"
