Since we're 1 week away from the start of the season, this seems relevant.

I'll tell you why we likely won't:

Lack of depth on the defensive front 7.

2014 however is a different story, regardless of who the QB is.

Unless Everett declares for the draft, we would return a minimum of NINE starters on defense. Here's what our depth would look like next season.

Weakside Defensive End: Obioha (JR-2 year starter), Hall (SO), Taylor (SR), Taylor (RS-SO)

Strongside Defensive End: Alexander (RS-JR, returning starter), Stansbury (RS-SR), Arnold (SO), Johnson (FR)

Nose Tackle: Golden (SO), Walker (SO), Washington (FR)

Defensive Tackle: Williams (JR, returning starter), Manning (SO), Points (SO)

Weakside Linebacker: Washington (SO), Wade (RS-FR), Hilliard (RS-SO, transfer from TCU)

Middle Linebacker: Baggs (SR, returning starter), Claiborne (SO), Chevis (SO)

Strongside Linebacker: Sanders (SR, returning starter), Mastrogiovanni (SO), Walker (FR)

Cornerback: Everett (SR, 2-year starter), Ellis (SO), Davis (SO), Collins (FR)

Cornerback: Harris (JR, 2-year starter), Garner (SO), Sezer (SO), Sumner-Gardner (FR)

Free Safety: Raven (SR, returning starter), Honeycutt (RS-SR), Wiggins (SO), Harvey (FR)

Strong Safety: Matthews (SR, 2-year starter), Miles (RS-FR), Marshall (RS-SO), Watts (FR)

So your secondary that ranked 86th in pass defense last season that also has to replace 2 starters will be fine?

The old replacing starters on defense argument... one that LSU fans seem to acknowledge. Interesting...

You know how I know you're a fricking idiot?

1. I listed NEXT SEASON'S potential depth.

2. We're replacing ONE starter in the secondary (Everett started all but 2 games, Harris all but 4 and Matthews all but 4...but then again, I guess you still consider Steven Campbell, who was off the team after game 7, and Dustin Harris, who got beaten out of the starting lineup by a true freshman "lost starters")

3. You mention 86th in pass defense, which only accounts for total yardage, but don't mention 39th in pass efficiency defense (upper half of the SEC) or scoring defense (upper half of the SEC)...also completely glossing over 3rd down defense (4th in the SEC, 16th overall), or red zone defense (16 spots above LSU nationally)

This dude loathes A&M he literally cannot resist posting any inane drivel regardless of how idiotic. He's like that kid in grade school that constantly picks fights even though he gets beat up every time.

Well I responded to your post addressing why you won't win it all this year, and the only reason you gave was the d-line...and I figured there was more than just the d-line...but please never consider other possibilities...I know its aggy logic.

So most teams play 7 on their defensive line at the same time?

"Defensive Front seven" means DLine + Linebackers...unless you can have 14 men on the field now.

See how you said that alone and then just went on to next season's defense? I find it hard to believe that's the only A&M weakness, in fact, your rushing defense was better than your passing defense last year by miles, as it ranked 34th in the nation...
