Doesn't make any sense though. If Miles was fired in December, every coach in America would have known about it then anyway. No one is going to make a move mid-season.

All you're going to get now is a really pissed off Ogeron. And, you don't want to see a pissed off Ogeron. (Just ask USCw).

This is what I think. Goodness forbid Les finds something and they go 10-2 or 9-3... Becomes much tougher to make a move at that point than doing it now

So, basically what you're saying is Bama should've fired $aban in 2013?

Uh, context. You have to consider Miles's last season, and the expectations for this season, the opener loss...but the Auburn loss was a blow. Because had they won that, they could still have potentially won out and been in the playoffs. Wisconsin is looking GOOD.
Plus...did you not watch the last 30 seconds of that game? Also, it should go without saying that Auburn in 2013 was not nearly as bad as Auburn of 2016 has been.

LSU would have lost millions if they let Les ride out the season. The crowd for Mizzou will be near capacity now that he is gone because fans are interested to see what changes are made.

If Les was not fired, there would only be 70K fans on Saturday, not 100K. Multiply this by five. Plus, we get a head start on Herman.

If Les would have stayed and LSU won out, I would of been just fine with keeping him. However, I guess it was the overwelling opinion that there was no chance of him doing that.

LSU was averaging 21 ppg.
Bama-46.5
Mizzou-44(Blow out to pad stats)
A&M-43
Ole Miss-40
Florida-32.5
Arky-32 (Allen is legit)

I would think they had been talking to someone who is available immediately. Jim Tressel? Art Briles? Steve Sarkesian?

You would think, but they named Yaw Yaw as interim.

I'm interested to see what Steve Ensminger can do with that offense.

Ask the Auburn BOT. Malzahn will be fired by mid October. Don't want LSU getting the jump on their short list of new coach possibilities...

I can assure you that won't happen.

ETA and that makes you sound worried that Auburn would hire a better candidate if both had job openings.

I think it's beneficial for them recruiting wise. You know, not having any late surprises for the recruits.

It could blow up in their face, too.

How so? I think recruits would want to know who their HC was going to be. I hope LSU fans aren't expecting a current HC to leave their job now to take the LSU job. Any good HC will be playing in January. Miles had no trouble recruiting, except at QB.
