Kid looks like a playmaker. Props to Lane for his scouting.

Ole Miss needs to let Simmons rest that ankle anyway. It seriously needs time to heal.

Yeah... he was in rather obvious pain after the one series he played. He'll be out for a minute.

He lit up my beloved Valdosta State Blazers in the D-II championship game last year.

Got a TD pass with a bum wheel but yeah it’s clear he was in no shape to continue after that scramble.

He also wasn't having anything to do with the trainer on the sideline. At all.

If he plays another clean game against Tulane then I say absolutely yes. If you can win a track meet style game head to head vs a Bobby P coached offense in your first D1 start I think the hype is at least somewhat deserved.

Well it was against Arkansas's defense. Never the less he looked very comfortable running the offense. Haven't seen an update on his injured thumb yet.

Lot of yac on his completions. Lacks being able to throw over the top.

He can extend plays, and glad we have him. But… Arkansas isn’t Lsu or Oklahoma.

He doesn't play for Texas and/or have the last name Manning?

Simmons had 4 INTs vs equal or worse defenses. I’m not saying Arky defense is good but he played clean ball with a ton of pressure to keep pace with a really solid offense led by a solid QB and elite coordinator.

Hard to be much better than he was given the circumstances. Arky moved the ball at will and he simply didn't blink. Don't think there's a controversy. Chambliss came here knowing he was the back up but with another year left, he gambled that the exposure he could get at Ole Miss could parlay into a big time gig and so far that plan is working out. Teams will want him.

Agreed. I hate it for Simmons. He is the future, but to be that future, he needs to heal.

Honestly, it's good to see someone step up to big boy football from a D2 school and have success.
