Lane Kiffin doesn’t understand the power of team spirit and emotion that leads an underdog team to play above its competence and defeat more skilled teams. He is all analytics and process and can get surprised by team play and emotion from ‘inferior’ teams. Just think about 2024 and (home loss?!!!) to Kentucky and road loss to Florida. Process and steady play is important, but a team also needs to be highly competitive integrated and motivated, and I don’t think Lane understands that.

It’s ok Masterbaitusaurilliussayhi!

We all understand that the fact you have Bluto as a head coach is finally setting in to all of your little brains!

You are moving through the grief process for the third time this winter, which must be taxing for you all.

Are you in the anger phase now bubba? It will be ok little fella, the acceptance phase is coming up again very soon!

Geaux Tigers baby! The Lane trains coming for ya!

He was 10-3 with an arguably better team in 2024. Losses to Kentucky (4-8) and Florida (8-5). Head scratching losses that should be attributed to the HEAD coach.

Yes. All of it ultimately falls on the coach. He also has the 2nd highest winning percentage in Ole Miss history while taking over a dumpster fire of a program. Just under a coach whose name y’all have on the Stadium. I get it. You’re trying to downplay a coach that left. It’s all good lol but he legitimately was a good hire by Ole Miss and elevated them to heights they haven’t seen since my grandparents were newlyweds.

Emotions - very unsteady and unreliable
Process and analytics (data) - very reliable and predictable

Sounds like we made the right hire. So this must be a congratulatory thread? Thanks man.

I do think he fails at LSU. And look - I've been public about this and prolific on this board about it.

I think LSU is the most fertile college coaching job in America. The talent from East TX to the FL panhandle to Mississippi is the best I've ever seen. And LSU is positioned to eat their share and then some.

Fan base - ignoring the idiots here - is willing to travel and passionate.

But I think it comes down to Lane Kiffin. He's a mess. And he's not ready for this job. He is going to melt down. I think the cracks show by the middle of next season.

And here's the thing LSU. You don't need a genius coach. You just need a Cajun Mack Brown.

Lane was a good hire for what we needed. Bit he has NEVER stayed to complete any job he has been assigned.

Remind yourself that when Lane goes for it on 4th down on his 20 or 30… muttering “analytics” or forgoes a field goal in a close game and loses by less than a field goal.

He decided he couldn’t win there. You have yet to prove him wrong.

We agree… he couldn’t have won the two playoff games we won if he had been coaching us. He never would have gotten us to the Miami game.

So you are completely better off without him and can easily stop wish casting his inevitable failure with a new team. You can move right on with your life until we play next year right? RIGHT?

Now THIS would be a legitimately good concern most realistic fans should and do have. The good thing is if he just ups and leaves in the dead of night we’ll hire someone else. We needed an elevated quick boost to the program and I do believe he gives us that. Honestly not much different than the situation Ole Miss was in when they hired him.
