The states of South Carolina and North Carolina are very different and, at times, really dislike each other.
Truth...plus After beating UNC and Duke in basketball in consecutive ACC games last week make it all the more satisfying that we stayed.

Congrats on your first ever win in Chapel Hill in 60 tries.

That’s a pretty accurate summary. I think people that aren’t from this state don’t understand we both are considered lesser people when it comes to a lot of people from North Carolina. They passed the admissions standards but yet Norm Sloan was able to get David Thompson in. I have been wanting Clemson to get out since the 80’s when the ACC handed Clemson and extra year of probation. Guilty but never heard of a conference giving a member more than the NCAA. Sure it wouldn’t have done UNC that way.

Unfortunately now that tv is so important in conference realignment, I think you won’t see schools in close proximity move to same conference ( unless state legislators get involved )

Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky would block such a move anyway. Come on guys this has been hashed out so many times.

No, trust me, we understand.

Yeah I think you’re right. At this point I think it is what is. I normally don’t jump in on these threads but SC Libertarian did such a good job explain it just thought I would echo his statement.
Probably call that guy if I need an attorney towards the coast

My father would pull for Iran before Clemson, but he loves Rick Barnes for standing up to that "two-faced hypocrite" in Chapel Hill.

Remember that bombshell report back in 2012 or whenever that Clemson, FSU, Missouri and Texas A&M were going to join the SEC? Well the Missouri and A&M part ended up being correct. I wonder if something fell through with Clemson and FSU

Uhhhhhhh you really don’t know?
Have you heard of the South Carolina Gamecocks?
I assume you are referring to having 2 schools from the same state...
You ever heard of Alabama and Auburn?
You ever heard of MSU and Ole Miss?
Would much rather have Clemson in the SEC and we could kick Missouri out.

I understand and don’t doubt you in the least. FSU has been dealing with it since they stupidly joined the ACC. ACC Refs rape FSU in games against the Carolina 4.

Why do you look like you sell women's hair products, via 30 min late night tv commercials? You try really hard and trying really hard.

They want to skate by in the ACC. However, I do think Clemson would compete quite well in the SEC. Don't let the NC game fool you.
They would be in the East so yes they would compete. Don't let the NC or the SEC championship games let anyone think the East is close to the West though

Thanks I remember them being unhappy in the ACC for years and everyone always saying UK should be in the ACC abs Clemson in the SEC, I was just curious why nothing every happened.

They were chicken...which is ironic considering their in-state rivals
Posted on 1/21/20 at 7:09 pm to TutHillTiger
honestly if Clemson was in the SEC they would probably split the conference.

Would they be the same though if they joined back then? Probably not, they have greatly benefited from the East becoming a doormat, FSU imploding, and having the ACC schedule. Being in the SEC during this transition may have changed things much more negatively for them.
