Florida is an excellent, top tier job. Just my opinion.

“ Bear Bryant, quite possibly the greatest football coach of all time, once stated in regards to the University of Florida football program that "there's a sleeping giant down there."
Rich, fertile recruiting ground.

I’ve said this before but I think the ceiling at Florida is just about as high as it gets in the sport. It’s just a question of if it can be reached. There are negatives. The floor isn’t as high as it is at LSU for example. But the location is great for tapping into Miami, Atlanta, and everything in between.
The distance and recruiting hot bed aspect is undersold if anything.
Florida was a recruiting Mecca pre-Covid with 21M residents, but post covid Florida has added 2M people. To put that in context the entire state of Alabama is only 5M people. To put it further in context it has a larger population to draw on than GA + MS + AL combined.
So Florida added 40% of the state of AL in the past 6 years. That matters even if not all those players grew up Florida fans.
The state also hosts the IMG academy which means you have a massive blip of blue chip talent not far from Gainesville to partner with and recruit from.
If the NIL situation is worked out you can win championships at Florida without a doubt.

Miami was cheating hard when they won all those titles. Everyone knows it.

They have made the playoff several times since its inception, Florida has not

Um...how is FSU a better job? They are 0-4 this year 2-10 last year. Are you insane or very, very dumb?

Top 3 recruiting state.
Great environment: Gainesville is a safe college town near beautiful Florida beaches and no state taxes.
Winning tradition under Spurrier and Meyer aka championship can be won at Florida.
Only SEC school in Florida and FSU and Miami suck being in the ACC.

Actually FSU is 3-4 this year.

quote:it’s a bit of a negative but not so much as the reason 3 p4 programs can exist there is there are so many recruits in state that it can be sustained.
The only negative is the in-state competition for recruits
It’s true there’s competition for the top of the top but that’s true for every elite recruit no matter where they are located
For instance Jeremiah smith was from FL and ended up at Ohio state
Elite recruits will be targeted by big programs in or out of state

Miami is a paper tiger with little fan support, they got lucky when coaches recruited white kids from PA.
FSUs image was built in a one horse acc.

What is the remark about Brazil? It is the country of the future and always will be.
Sometimes potential can be hard to realize. I remember reading an article about 15 years ago arguing there were four schools since WW II that had huge untapped potential: A&M, UNC, UCLA and Illinois.
All had access to prime recruits. Three of the four were close to prime media markets. But all had vastly underperformed.
I know that A&M looks incredible now but that article still held up well as of August.

Um..Miami shits on most college towns after you are done with college.....because Miami is not a college town. . Big city compared to college towns...very easy stuff.

Their rivals uga and ut have been significantly better than uf for a long time now.
As someone who is from BIG country and watches more SEC games over the last 20+ years to learn more about this rivalry, UT is not significantly better. Vols always found ways to lose even when they had the better team! UT was Gatorbait for a long arse time and I can usually look forward to them choking! You’re joking right!
