In Georgia they don't let a little rain decide whether they play or not. Atlanta sprawl is main reason.

Metro Atlanta is a hotbed but the rest of the state produces tons of kids, too. High school coaching in South and West Georgia is top notch and has been for a long time (Valdosta, Carrolton, Rome, LaGrange, Albany, a million small counties and schools in-between).

No doubt. Take ATL out of the equation.

If the reason Georgia has so many football players because of "good coaching" and "wealth and resources in Atlanta" and whatever else, then how come Mississippi has more NFL players per capita than Georgia.

What is there a higher % of in Mississippi than Georgia?

Mississippi has more world class athletes than many states, it's ridiculous.

The drop off in CA is crazy. 5 years ago, they had 58 blue chippers in the 2018 class. Now they only have 29 in the 2023 class.

Ever increasing number of hispanics, who prefer soccer, and ever increasing number of liberals, who don’t like universities spending money on football. Texas is next.

Actually the Asian population and Armenian population is increasing more now than Hispanics. Now they’ll never catch up with the number of Central and South Americans in Cali because of sheer numbers. Baseball, soccer and basketball are huge in California. Football is a third sport mainly. California has always had a lot of liberals. But there were 4 million voters in that state alone that voted for Trump. That’s a bigger number than some states

Carrollton hired the coach that was at Cartersville and coached Trevor Lawrence. That attracted a kid whose name is Julian Lewis and who, as a freshman, is the best quarterback in the state.

I actually played HS football down in Lagrange for one year.

Three of my former teammates made NFL rosters.

Bruce Thornton, our star RB then went to UGA and became a star in their secondary for them then played for the 49ers if I'm not mistaken.

Buster Skrine went to my HS. I think he's the only NFL guy. Not counting Rick Steiner's son who was undrafted and signed with the Ravens during training camp.

I remember Skrine playing for the Browns. Best thing he did was get out of that shite organization. Although they have made improvements finally

I think he just retired. Started some for the Titans last year.
We also had a QB who was on the Memphis team that beat Peyton and the Vols in 96.

Yeah I knew he went to the Jets but went somewhere after. Didn’t know it was Tennessee.

East Cobb would be ground zero.

Modern day travel ball was pretty much started there by my old Pony League coach Guerry Baldwin

It's certainly the historical birthplace of Atlanta's amateur baseball explosion.

Yep East Cobb is definitely the cradle of amateur baseball.

This is true SOG, the East Cobb baseball scene is amazing. The Columbus/Phenix City area has put a lot of kids in the majors.

Also African American kids in the state of Georgia still participate in baseball at a high level where it’s slipped in other parts of the country.
