Albert Means makes Akiem Hicks look like Rudy Ruettiger.
And I don't think murders will occur after the dust settles on the Hicks case.

Why is the barn resorting to such drastic measures?
Last year it was grabbing LSU's leftovers with DeAngelo Benton after he finally qualified and now it's going after laptop thief and Florida failure Cam Newton.
I realize Auburn is desperate to recruit well, but can't you guys at least have a bit of self-respect? What happened to "stars don't matter" and recruiting players that would fit in well with the "Auburn family?" Or have DUIs and robbery become the family norm?
They're trying to turn the program around and they're recruiting well.

The reason for going after Cam Newton is simple (AU=The New Thug U jokes aside of course) they are going to need someone to run the Wildcat soon because Burns will be a senior this fall.

I really hope Newton signs with Auburn, because from now on, we'll never see an Auburn fan type anything regarding "free laptops."
After all, Jerell Harris's free laptop is less embarrassing than Cam Newton's free laptop.

it's alright for Bama to sign a JUCO player in Saban's 2nd recruiting class like T. Cody and have him start right away...
When the player becomes a two-time All American, then yeah it is alright.

Auburn is just trying to get some of that swag.
I think this will put them over the top.

What is the deal with this "leftover" bullcrap...Auburn recruited Benton he chose AU over LSU...LSU fans are full of crap if they say they did not want him...same for Newton...if it would not have been for the laptop fiasco he would be getting ready to start for UF next season...he broke a rule and paid the price...I think it is getting to some of you that Chizik and staff is doing such a good job...no one expected it...

Wow, spoken with humility! I am happy we won this year. I don't heckle Aubs. You guys are gonna have an awesome recruiting class with possibly the best three running backs in the country this year.

Chizik is doing a good job with this class. I'm impressed with the players Auburn is bringing in.

As an auburn fan i'd like to believe that the coaching staff has talked to the kid established that his character has improved and that they believe there will be no such incident if he comes to auburn.
But I know rationality kills flames so please continue.

It's not just the barn:
Seems like MOST every team accepts a problem kid to give him a fresh start. Nothing wrong with second chances.

The idea, at least from a football standpoint, is to follow the path of former Gators safety Jamar Hornsby, who was kicked off the team last year for his arrest on credit card fraud, played a year of junior college ball and later signed with Ole Miss.

Yeah, I'm pissed off we're trying to recruit the most talented kids now. Its even worse we're going for ones from out of state that other schools are interested in too. I hate these drastic measures! I think our problem this year was we had too much depth. We should have no more than 25 players on scholly, and none of them with more than 2 stars!
