But the narrative that Kiffin quit on the Ole Miss season is not accurate.
It's absolutely accurate. He could have told LSU that he is coaching a current playoff team and if they want him as their HC, wait until his season is over. It's pretty simple. It was LSU's insecurity to not wait because they knew, in the back of their mind, Lane could wind up screwing them and staying at Ole Miss. That's the kind of character you HC has and probably the reason Saban said no when the Bama job opened.

Why don’t you worry about your own playoff game?

So why did they beg Charlie Weiss, Jr to stay and coach their offense after he has accepted the OC job at LSU?
Go ahead and explain the hypocrisy.
WJOX, Cole and GMac had a great interview this morning going on with these details... This was negotiated between OM / LSU AD's if I remember correctly. Lane made it plain with the 'on the plane' or you have no job.
Apparently the staff was polled.. The offensive group was tied to Lane supporting the departure... the defensive, special teams, trainers all were like 'We getting ready for the playoffs, what are you talking about'
This is just another bolt in the middle of the night (aka. Tennessee) story, and will probably remain that way.
Everyone should know by now, it's what you get with LK... regardless of the 'I prayed'.... LMAO.

See Summeral (sp). See Golsh.
He taunted the media (and everyone else) with his tweets.
Guess we will see if he can bring stability to LSU.

I see Summerall and the N Texas coach still coaching their original teams through their championship runs. Looks like the Tulane and North Texas ADs want their teams to finish.

You guys are so low class you are paying three head coaches and your new one has a $73 Million buy out. Can the Childrens Hospital afford all of this.

When it became clear Kiffin was leaving, Weiss told AD Keith Carter that he was leaving but he wanted to coach Ole Miss through the playoffs if LSU would allow it and LSU allowed it. I think it is cool that Weiss has such strong connections to the players and wants to see this through. Keith Carter respects him and appreciates that he is doing this. It says a lot about how Weiss has a high character.

Don’t think that was in some way predicated on how those coaches handled their departure?
Kiffin may be great for LSU, but the dude sucks personally. Come to think of it, match made in trailer park heaven.

They just want Weiss to drive back to Lafayette County because they didn't get a chance to run his arse off the road the first time.

Why are LSU fans so upset their snake HC is coaching Ole Miss’ playoff team?

Obviously and that's best for both parties.
