Burrow was pretty good, no doubt. But better than Mendoza? I think Burrow said it best himself when he said "Don't Go Breaking My Heart".

By the end of the year LSU had one of the best defenses in the country. They held Clemson to less points, and yards than that great OSU defense did. Lawrence had a much better game against OSU than he did against LSU as well. Go over LSU’s defensive stats the last two regular season games, SECCG, and the 2 playoff games. Also, KC was still coming back from an ACL and by the back end of the year he was 100%. And if the defense was so awful, why did they have multiple 1st rd picks? Including Stingley who would later become a top 5 pick and future NFL all pro.
