One-half of my family lives in the United Kingdom.
[Great] Uncle Albert was visiting us in the States several years back.
At dinner, each of us had large goblets of water, along with our wine/cocktails.
During the meal I inadvertently reached for Uncle Albert’s water goblet,—thinking it was my glass—and took a huge gulp.
It was gin.
Straight up.
Looked exactly like water, with the possible exception that the glass contained more liquid in it than did the goblets of water.
The man drank a full bottle of gin every other day.
We won’t discuss his daily, platter-sized English breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, black pudding, and ... gin.
He only recently passed away about five years ago at the age of 97 years. Hand-rolled his cigarettes until the day he died.
Rest In Peace, Uncle Albert.

The thread topic discipline on display here has been atrocious, Ed.

I know, man. I'm off my game today. I generally try and run a tighter ship around here. I'll do better next time.
ETA: I just gave myself the 28th downvote.

I've always heard that the limeys can throw the liquor back pretty well. Sounds like you've got some good genes.
Condolences for your loss.

Everything you’ve heard is true.
It’s obscene.
Thank you for the kind sentiment; it was his time to return home.
And I’ve zero doubt the gin is far superior behind the Golden Gates, anyway.

Here's another one for ya. Even though I don't support the Aggys and I wish they were still in a different conference, I'll be happy for y'all if you win tomorrow.

We need someone to step up and fill the vacancy left by Tennessee in the Big 6.
A&M can do that with a win tomorrow.
The SEC needs statement games from A&M and LSU tomorrow to remind everyone in which conference the Alpha Dogs reside.

I think Missouri (as much as I hate their guts) has a better claim to that than Aggie does. They've already played for 2 SEC titles.
Of course, if we are being serious and considering all the teams in the SEC and not just the newcomers, might I suggest Arkansas?
1. Arkansas has the best internet posters (myself not included)
2. Arkansas has more National Titles than anyone in the SEC.

You raise a great point.
I’ve never seen another fanbase entice a rival school’s starting quarterback to create an account on this site and shoot to shite with us. LINK
That’s worthy of consideration IMO.
Sucks that admins deleted all his posts.

If pigs weren’t made to be eaten, why did God make bacon the most delicious food in the world?

That was funny. I wonder if he will show up here tomorrow night. What would be even better is if he actually did dedicate his next Tuddie to us live on air.

Well there is pressure now. Everyone thinks that Clemson is the new king, and if they play Alabama again, they expect the same results. That is pressure that Clemson has not faced.
But you are right, Alabama would win.

Hey man, it's nothing personal. I just don't want the Aggys to win.

One reason why they're on upset alert. The other reason: the defense won that Natty, not the offense. Bama moved the ball, but the Tigers had future NFL stars on D who made plays in high leverage moments. Most of those guys are gone.
The SEC has three schools that would beat Clemson at least 3/5 times if they played right now. A&M? 2/5. Hopefully tomorrow is one of the two.
