They exceeded individual expectations this year and probably got an opportunity to transfer to their original first choice school.

Either shite is about to explode and our whole defense is going to hit the portal or Pittman/Odom has a plan.
So far, none of the players who have left were likely starters next year. Yes, that includes Foucha, Brooks and Hornsby.

We need about 16 more in the portal to get under 85.

Basically all but about 4 of the transfers were processed by the staff to make room for extra scholarships to bring in portal replacements. They basically never played and will likely end up at 1-AA type schools, if at all anywhere else.
The two starting DBs that hit the portal are both from Louisiana and supposedly looking to get paid. Likely going to LSU. Those arr good sec players, but not all-conf types.
The backup kicker who left was a kickoff specialist only who got beat out on FGs by a true freshman, so he left to be a full time kicker somehere else.
The backup QB is a big gain for someone. He's likely one of the 3 or 4 fastest players in CFB, and he doesnt want to sit behind KJ another year because he probably thinks he's the next Lamar Jackson. He will go to some Big 12 school and be a huge success.
The number of losses are inflated, but Arkansas still lost 2 starters in their secondary, which hurts, but it's not nearly as bad as eveyone is making it out to be.

Hornsby really impressed me when he played us. Little more weight, and he would be an excellent SEC qb.

I don't know what he's doing at QB. Has no arm (yet) and reportedly can't read defenses. If he really is leaving, I wonder if they asked him to move to WR or RB?
If he stays, I hope the really coach him up. He could be a stud, but has a long way to go.

This. In 2 years I haven’t seen anything to suggest he can be an effective passer. In mostly mop up duty he was 5/12 for 46 yards.
He is supper fast but is easily arm tackled.

Hope that’s true, Pittman seems like an awesome guy to play for. Rooting for him.
