Serious answer - many of us pull for other SEC teams because a stronger conference perception benefits everyone. But another reason is that we are familiar with the other teams. I grew up with talk about Hershel Walker and the Chinese Bandits and General Neyland and Johnny Vaught. I am familar with these programs, and so I tend to have more interest in them doing well. We aren't as familiar with A&M (other than the ties between Bama and A&M in coaching), and most of us don't know anything about Missouri. So stick around and ask your question in a couple years.

Speak for yourself. The only SEC school I pull for is Georgia. The rest I either could care less about them and ignore when they are not facing Georgia (Vandy, Ole Miss, LSU) or actively want to fail at everything (all 10 other schools).

We don't pull for each other... Where did you get this nonsense?
We pull for the SEC against OCC teams.
We pull for an SEC team when they're playing another SEC team that we don't like.
But we want all of you to fail. Some of us like to see the SEC all prevail in bowl season, some don't. The SEC chants aren't showing SEC unison.... They're smearing other conferences faces in it.

I disagree with almost everyone in this thread. I pull for every sec team in ooc games except for Tennessee and to a lesser extent Auburn. There are games in which I would pull for AU in but not Tennessee. frick Tennessee. There is only 1 color in the entire spectrum that makes me want to vomit and it's Tennessee orange. Not all orange, just that particular shade of it that's really almost yellow, which is fitting since their yellow bellied tub of lard coach anonymously testified against their rival because he was too chicken shite to do it to their face.
However, aTm has gotten unbearable since they pulled out that unlikely win in Bryant Denny last year. I mean, they didn't even finish top 3 in their division but because they took down the beast in Tuscaloosa, suddenly they are a super power.
Plus JFF is a cock gobbling douchebag. If he had 1 ounce of humility, I could get behind him because I like watching that style of quarterback play. It's fun to watch. I was one of the biggest Vick fans anywhere near here when he was at Vatech. But I just can't stand his attitude and it just makes it worse that he wants us to walk a mile in his shoes and feel sorry for his spoiled little rich kid arse.
So yeah, aTm gets put in the same category as AU and Tenn this year. But once they either get their come uppance, or prove that they really are legit, they will be just another SEC team who will get my usual SEC support.

We pull for each other besides you two because neither of the two teams are southeastern.
One is a worthless piece of shite with barely anything to contribute to the conference, and the other one is located above Arkansas.

There is no possible way I could pull for Notre Dame against anybody! Ok..I MUST admit I have mixed feelings when ND plays Miami, Southern Cal and beginning to have those feelings about Ohio State. I yell against BOTH teams whenever any of these match up against each other!

I don't pull for other SEC schools. Also why should I pull for a team that was added just for TV money? They aren't part of the SEC after one year. The only team I would like to see do less is MO and that is because they were only added because they were available to counter A&M.
