I’m over in Georgia right now and UGA fans I’ve encountered are insufferable already. One guy I met told me he’s happy to see Bama’s “already out!”. I said “No not yet”. He replied “yes they are, they’re like 6th now”. Lol, ok? That’s just one example of UGA fandom I’ve seen here.

So merely contemplating how the alleged "UGA Greatest Defense in the history of the world" would fare against the number one ranked offense in the country somehow makes me an OSU alter ?

I tend to agree but I don’t think UGA’s offense is anything special with SB. I think Bama stumbles at AU.

Well - if they played in the next couple weeks - I'd assume Georgia would beat Alabama.
I've watched both teams several times. And I've seen no reason to believe that Alabama's offensive line can do anything, literally anything, with Georgia's three defensive tackles.
The only shot I see is if Bryce Young turns into Fran Tarkenton, and just runs and runs and runs while hitting receivers in stride. Georgia's front three are not fast. They just push your line backward - while you try to double team them - on every play. Then those linebackers clean up stuff. It's pretty simple, really, on the Georgia side of the line.
They do that until you give the Dawgs a short field. Then they score. Rinse and repeat.

Fair, what will UGA do offensively? Bennett was great until coming to Tuscaloosa while our D was still soft and adjusting. Call me crazy, Georgia does not concern me.

As little as necessary. That's the key to Georgia.
No - they are not great on that side of the ball. And Kirby calls a really conservative game. But they don't have to be great on that side, when you have that defense.
When they scored 14 - it was ball game against Kentucky. When they score 21 - it'll be ball game against Alabama. And at halftime, trust me, time of possession will be about 17 to 13. It'll only get worse from there, as that defense rolls up more three and outs and that offense looks better and better because the Tide is just damn tired on defense.
Georgia scores their points in the last half of the second quarter, and the fourth quarter. It's a really sinister game of complimentary football - where Smart knows, once he has a two possession lead, that he has all the points he needs.

He doesn't run it while splitting a double team, and 40 times don't matter while you're controlling two gaps and giving up no space against two linemen. And that's the point.
Georgia has three defensive tackles that easily eat up five offensive linemen. And they move side to side so well that they don't have to get out of position moving up-field and taking chances.
You don't see those tackles blitz in for sacks. You see them push the entire line backward. Then, sometimes, they swallow up the ball carrier or quarter-back.

In 2019 I said that I thought LSU would beat bama, I guess that makes me an LSU alter.
I don't see UGA winning it all because I can't see them stopping the bama offense, let alone the OSU offense.
