Why don't we kick out Vandy and bring in Clemson?

I mean the only major sport they are succeeding in is baseball. Makes perfect sense to me. Move Tennessee to the West and put Auburn in the East so Clemson doesn't slaughter everyone in the East

Do you even FOIA?

Vanderbilt is the one school you can't kick out.

Vandy gives the SEC some class.

Clemson would not.

But Clemson gives the SEC the only thing that matters: Better ratings

Vandy is a charter school and resides in the State where the SEC was founded. It’s not our fault Tulane made a terrible decision to leave the conference. That will not happen at Vandy and anyone suggesting we should leave is not part of the traditional SEC family.

How many dollars would Clemson bring over Vandy? I'm guessing less than you think.

Wrong. Clemson's tv market is encapsulated by USCe so there's no new revenue there and tv money is the REAL money to be made by the conference.

Clemson has Zero interest in moving to the SEC. We have plenty of money and have everything we need to compete at the highest level in all sports..

Pass...

Try NC State or Virginia Tech

Clemson will be back to being the old Clemson once their church money funneling scheme is unearthed.

I grew up in the south, and have done nothing but watch SEC football my whole life.

I see how every fan base reacts when they go to Vandy - it's like a non conference game. It's a pathetically small stadium in football, the basketball court is an abomination, they are terrible at everything but baseball.

Compare fan enthusiasm, news articles, etc when, say, UGA goes to Vandy as opposed to UGA going to Neyland. There's no comparison, even now when the Vols have been down.

I don't know why Vandy people get so defensive about this. They really don't belong in the SEC. It's not enough to have been a charter member. You have to pull your own weight and Vandy doesn't do that at all. If anything, the conference is held back by Vandy. That's just the ugly truth.

With regard to football - Why subject those players to the SEC beatings every week? Not fair to them.

Clemson would be a great replacement. To have the USC / Clemson game each year also serving as a conference game - it would be a great addition to the SEC.

Vanderbilt is the only elite school academically we have in the conference (although Georgia, Florida, and Texas A&M are good schools). Vandy has to stay. If we kick anyone out, it has to be both Mississippi schools, Arkansas, or Missouri. It would also be acceptable if the Mississippi schools somehow combined into one school and then we had a probationary period to determine that school's worth.

why are people constantly talking about changing the makeup of the conference?

It seems like that's how we got into this mess in the first place. Just leave the SEC the frick alone already.

Same argument, except Missouri is also terrible at baseball
