Nashville is because of all those rabid Vandy fans? Tampa Bay is?
Nashville has a ton of Tennessee fans and recently a ridiculous amount of bandwagon Bama fans who claim to be life longer Bammers.
Also really accessible to Kentucky fans which is the main reason it’s there.

Not saying Nashville doesn’t have plenty of SEC fans in it but so does Memphis
Also what happened in downtown Nashville Christmas Day is way worse than anything to happen in downtown Memphis so the whole crime thing is wild.
I like it being in Nashville but Memphis has plenty of SEC fans, nicer arena and close to the two fanbases in Kentucky and Arkansas

Whut
Memphis is probably one of the biggest SEC cities in the south. Just about everyone that lives in Memphis is either Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas, or LSU alum

I think the obvious point that hasn’t been made in this thread yet is University of Memphis basketball is so big here, they don’t want to tread on that.

It's a shorter drive for Kentucky fans to Nashville than it is to Memphis OP. Not hard to figure out the economics of this.

You obviously haven’t driven through Germantown. There are bad areas in every town.

$hithole and should be nuked.

Surprisingly hard airport to fly in and out of, at least until you consider the city's largest employer. Airport closes to passenger traffic at 9 PM every night.

Memphis is more of an SEC city than Lexington

If true where are the fans on here that are living in Memphis?

They prefer Horn Lake. It's the Germantown of North Miss

Maybe, but the reward is far greater in NoLa than Memphis, even assuming the risk is identical or greater (it’s not). I never need to go back to Memphis.

If your city sucks enough that you have to point to a separately incorporated suburb as the nice part, your city sucks.

Huntsville is the big city in Alabama these days scratch smoke city.

Because the cost of providing bullet proof vests for the fans is too costly?

I'd say "because there's no SEC School in Memphis", but clearly that's not even remotely close to a criteria.
So I'd guess because the town sucks arse?

downtown Bham has revived and UAB built a new FB stadium within spitting distance of the BJCC. Plus BJCC did a major remodel

Horn Lake is the Memphis of North Mississippi. Areas south of Olive Branch are nicer than Germantown, and the taxes are cheaper.
To the point of this thread, the SEC tourney should be played in Memphis. The city is dangerous in places but that's true of most places. Nashville is getting just as bad as Memphis.
