FedEx Forum is pretty legit. Plus its a 30 second walk to Beale St.

Just as centrally located as Nashville

The same reason nobody just goes “walking in Memphis” anymore.

It used to rotate through Memphis, among other venues. Better question is why it’s in Nashville every year from 2023-2030

Nola is twice the ghetto of Memphis

It’s also been in St Louis recently which is basically a yankee version of Memphis

I’d love to see the SECT in Memphis, personally. If you don’t get stabbed, it’s a fun town. Seems like a better basketball city than Nashville too, which isn’t really saying much. 9 different SEC teams have won the SECT since 2000 and I feel like Memphis would be a good draw for almost every fan base. Plus, there’s something be said for watching a basketball game in an actual basketball arena. The fan experience at FedEx would trump anything we’ve seen at Bridgestone or god forbid, the dome in Atlanta.

Off topic, but I just noticed this years tournament is in the Lightning’s facility in Tampa. Never attended an event there, but a trip to Tampa in March sounds pretty good to me. I’m all for moving it around the conference footprint, but for the love of everything basketball, keep these games out of the damn football stadiums.

Grew up in Memphis. Has some awful parts but really nice areas as well. Weird city. You will have a million dollar house then the ghetto 5 blocks away.

Just have to know to avoid areas. Never had an issue growing up there and Forum is nice and they have plenty hotels that used to be an issue

The football championship is in ATL and it’s worse than Memphis and STL has had the basketball and it’s just as bad.

Same as any big city

These golfers sure do like going to Memphis once a year and never hear issues from Grizz games.

I’d love for it to be at Forum. Close to Kentucky and Arkansas which is what makes up those tournaments. Mainly Kentucky but Arkansas always has 2nd most fans by wide margin

Not a SEC city. Of course, neither is St. Louis.

Because the best part of Memphis is only slightly better than the area around the ole Murder Kroger in Atlanta

Birmingham? Where would they play? That place is just as ghetto as Memphis

NOLA is too far from the fans that make up the SEC tourney.

It should stay in Nashville really. Big enough arena and perfect location for ticket sales

Is really is an SEC town.

More SEC fans in that city than anything else.

Atlanta isn’t a SEC city. Nashville is because of all those rabid Vandy fans? Tampa Bay is?
