We play in an all Texas conference.
I don’t know if the rest of the SEC could keep up. Hockey is pretty popular in Texas.

They did and they used to play here in JAX during FL/GA weekend in the 90’s

I've said it before..with the resources and talent that are available in St. Louis, Illinois and the rest of the midwestern states, Mizzou would be the Bama of D1 SEC hockey.

The SEC doesn’t fund youth hockey in the South believe it or not. I don’t think it’s hard to figure out why a winter sport isn’t a huge investment in the southeast

No they keep getting kicked out of their conference. They were a Division 2 powerhouse and when the NCAA dropped that level of hockey they decided to move up. All of their other programs are D2. They currently are in a conference with teams from Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Alaska. They've only made the playoffs in Division 1 twice, and both times they had a losing record. Hockey is already a money loser overall, but now they have to travel very far all the time.
