Oh no!

Ole Miss fans responding to the Ole Miss flame thread you started!

Get bent. If you want to settle this in person name the time and place. I already fought another Arkansas fan 3 weeks ago

Oxford is the reason why we can't fill our stadium.

Town is too small to support the amount of people it has. Very limited resources. Not enough hotels and the shitty ones that are there are too expensive. Most out of towners have to spend at least $500-1000 to stay a weekend in Oxford plus $100-$200 for a game ticket. Many have to get a hotel 1-2 hours away just to go to the game.

Parking situation is horrendous and they don't make it easy for you to get to the stadium either.

I live in Oxford and I would rather watch it on TV instead of having to deal with all of that shite.

It has gotten better. We've got a few new badly needed hotels now, although game weekend pricing can be pretty crazy.

The parking situation drives me crazy. I think it's nuts that there is no public parking anywhere on the campus of a public university for game day parking. Don't expect it to be free, don't expect a lot, but nothing at all is crazy to me. I wrote Ross Bjork at the time, and did get a thoughtful response from the athletic department, but really disagree with the policy.

The blocked off roads on campus definitely don't help.

It is an issue as lane has even commented on

First thing you’ve actually been right about in this thread.

‘You could say they won the game:’ Lane Kiffin compliments Ole Miss fans

quote:

Last week, head coach Lane Kiffin challenged the Rebel faithful to arrive early and stay late for the Kentucky game. After the Rebels’ 22-19 victory over the Wildcats, he deemed the challenge successful. “The crowd was really to our advantage, which is what the goal has been,” Kiffin said.

quote:

The attendance this past weekend for the top-15 matchup topped 64,000 and was recorded as the sixth-highest total in the history of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The fans were not only loud early, but they stayed loud up until the final whistle, complicating everything that Kentucky was trying to accomplish.

quote:

“It impacted the game,” Kiffin said. “There were three penalties for them on offense – two false starts and an illegal shift, which to me is a false start – that could be credited to the crowd.” The impact crowd levels can have on a program goes beyond the playing field, and Kiffin wanted Rebel supporters to see how constant attendance plays a key role in the development of the program.

Thank you for pointing this out

Lets be real. This is because most Ole Miss fans really don't give a shite about football.

The Grove, Square, and our games is just a huge dick-measuring pageant for Mississippians to pretend they are wealthy and better than everyone for a day. Also most of our students are from out of state and pull for Georgia, Texas, etc. They don't give a f*ck about OM.

Its also tough to get these dolled-up pageant OM girls to sit through an entire game. Most are bored by halftime because they don't even know how football works. Half the guys in student section leave because whatever chick(or dude) they are banging wants to dip out and go to the Square...or someone is bringing some drugs over to someone's house.

If you went to Ole Miss, you know this is the truth.

Well it's a good thing that coke and weed are very portable. No ones leaving in the 3rd quarter to go smoke PCP or inject heroin or whatever else they may be doing.

I'd say fans like to go to football games. Not a shite ton of people driving in to drink in the grove and on the square on a late July weekend. Football drives this. Fans go to games.

And it's a tiny stadium, too.

I think you’re missing the point they have one of the smallest stadiums and it’s an issue of lanes.

They expanded it so it would seat a little more than ours. There's the difference
