And technically this isn't true. Most Auburn fans are Auburn fans because they actually went to school there or have family that went to school there.

So promoting the school to younger kids trying to decide on a college is smart.
Promoting the educational opportunities at Auburn University has nothing to do with showing highlights of the 2010 season and ending a commercial with:
"For 2011 Auburn Football Season Ticket Information please visit www.xxxxxx.com or 1-800-AUBURN

BULL. shite. Out of all the auburn friends I have, only about 4 of them go to auburn or have family that went there.

the question I answered that he skipped over.
Well I missed it.
And it really has nothing to do with the question. The brand has been established according to your fanbase. The WTF is that there isn't a damn waiting list for tickets or donorship foundation in place.

I don't expect many of your friends went to college at all so I don't think your sample size is a good judge of the makeup of most AU fans.

BTW, the WVU game at TS was an embarrassment to the entire SEC. MSU would have represented better than LSU did.
Two top 25 teams at night in a one score game late in the 4th quarter and tens of thousands of LSU "fans" had left? WTF??????????????????????????????????????
The announcers talked about it (about the 5th time in the last two years TV announcers have been shocked at the LSU fans and their lack of support).
I mean it was a total embarrassment for the entire SEC on national tv.
Again, TS is no longer even part of a discussion of the top SEC stadiums. It is JH, BD, and the swamp. And I do not want to hear how your team is boring, etc. That seemed to be the excuse and it is a poor one.

Maybe if y'all keep bitching about AU advertising they will swap Auburn and LSU in the national championship game.

What's funny is this Matt poster is basically agreeing that they are shite compared to BAMA within the state.
I spent 18 years in Alabama. If you did not have an allegiance established to another CFB team your family picked: Alabama or Auburn.
There isn't a 35 year old College Football fan living in Daphne that decides, "hey, I think I'm going to buy some Auburn season tickets next year"

again I ask...in the overall grand scheme of things.....what difference does it make? did it harm anyone elses team? no it just gave everyone an oportunity to dog AU - which is all good - its what makes the SEC fun
.
but Golfer, your askign AU fans to answer something that we can truly not answer - as non of us are involved in the decision making.
you asking us to basically speculate, and if we do - its gonna be thrown back at us in any number of miriad ways. most AU fans are staying away cause its a no win situation for them - least thats my opinion.

You want to know what's even funnier? The majority of my friends that didn't go to college are auburn fans

Irrelevant based on the rich tradition of Auburn Football so eloquently plasted all over the SEC Rant since October.

How many times do I need to spell this shite out for you:
- I grew up in Alabama
- I was raised an Auburn Fan
Christ people, stay on topic.

What exactly are you trying to prove here? That AU is an inferior program because they actually advertise??
Posted on 12/27/10 at 2:55 pm to Golfer
no...it is relevant. you asked an AU fan to answer that which they cannot 100% definitivly answer.
we can "speculate" for you all day.

In all seriousness, would it help LSU's fan support if they actually had FEWER night games?.... I don't really blame people for leaving a night game that starts at 8:00pm early in the 4th quarter, regardless of score. What if a night game was held in higher regards to LSU fans?
Posted on 12/27/10 at 5:36 pm to lowspark12
I was under the impression that LSU fans prefer night games. I know no visiting team wants to play a night game in Death Valley.
