as physically gifted as Newton is, (and we thought we'd never see better than Tebow)isn't he at least a little cringe-worthy to AU fans? I realize y'all will be more 'twitterpated' because he was your QB, with Heisman, NCG, etc, but he is a bit egotistical & douchey. I wouldn't want to admit it if he played for Bama, but I would think it.

I did not mean that I wouldn't want to admit he played for Bama. I meant that if he DID play for Bama, I WOULD NOT WANT TO ADMIT that I think he has a big ego & acts douchey sometimes. In other words, I think most fans gloss over personality stuff if it's a great player for "their" team.

Ok. I won't debate NCAA rules from the Bryant era compared to now. NCAA was in it's infancy, so things were vastly different. As far as Joe Willie, he was a gifted player with a huge ego. His arse stayed in hot water often with Coach Bryant.

You and the other AU fans on this thread have done little other than flame me. I commented on this thread with no intention to flame. I was asking a sincere question related to the OP, and gave credit to Newton's talent. If no one can have a legitimate response, that speaks volumes.

As far as I can tell, none of the other females on here have had to prove such. My screen name is fanilow & I list my location as Wisteria Lane (from Desperate Housewives). If I were a dude I'd be queer as a $3 bill, and wouldn't be on a sports board anyway.
