Pretty sure he's also still the only QB who's been a 4x 1st team All-SEC selection

Is the OP talking about QBs from LA or QBs that played at LSU? Seems like they had 3 that were good enough in my lifetime to win a National Championship.

Producing two #1 overall draft picks at one position in the last 15 years ain't nothing
But there's definitely been a lot of shite filler in between too

If you want quality QBs, the State of Texas produces many every year. Get one of those, they (ut) just took the one LA produces per generation.

Shea Patterson wasn't a LA kid. He only lived there for 3 years. OH-TX-LA-IMG
J Russel was a good CFB QB. His NFL failures were his own laziness and he's admitted as much.

I don't know about that but he was pretty polished coming out of high school. I would imagine most of his development happened at Butler CC and LSU though. And after looking him up, he's now an analyst for Alabama.

First off,
The Manning kids were all raised in uptown New Orleans., not Mississippi. Their father, Archie played at Ole Miss and was an NFC MVP for the Saints.
Louisiana, with 25 NFL QBs, including Terry Bradshaw, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, is No. 1. Louisiana QBs have nine Super Bowl wins in 14 starts. Now don't you look STUPID....
Second:
Ever heard of these NFL QBs (not from LSU) born and raised in Louisiana?:
Bobby Hebert - Saints, Jake Delhomme - Panthers Super Bowl, Joe Ferguson - NFL Bills All-Pro, Doug Williams Redskins Super Bowl winner, James Harris - Buffalo, Terry Bradshaw - Steelers NFL Hall-of-Famer, Stan Humphries - San Diego, Brock Berlin, Josh Booty, Kordell Stewart
Third:
Or how about these NFL quarterbacks born in Louisiana who went to LSU?:
Tommy Hodson (All SEC 4 times), Bert Jones (NFL All-Pro and Heisman finalist), Y.A. Tittle (NFL Hall-of-Famer), Steve Ensminger, David Woodley (Starter for Dolphins in Super Bowl, Jamarcus Russell (All-SEC), Rohan Davey, Matt Mauck (National Champion), Matt Flynn (National Champion)
Jeff Wickersham, Jamie Howard, Herb Tyler, Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee, Alan Risher, Marcus Randall, Chad Loup.
Fourth:
How many LSU quarterbacks went to the NFL? Just since 2000, LSU has had 13 quarterbacks of record during the 21st century alone. During that time the Tigers have played for 4 national championships, won 3, and 2 of their quarterbacks were the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft – JaMarcus Russell (2007) and Joe Burrow (2020).
Fifth:
Louisiana, with 25 NFL QBs, including Terry Bradshaw, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, is No. 1. Louisiana QBs have nine Super Bowl wins in 14 starts.

and they were both transfers trained up by someone else.
Burrow almost never played at tOSU, came here started his junior year which was ok and then was elite his senior season. Looks like he developed at LSU, otherwise wouldnt he have been great his junior year too?
Mettenberger never played at UGA, went to a JUCO for 1 year, didnt play really his first year at LSU, was meh his first year starting at LSU and was great his senior season at LSU. Again, looks like he developed at LSU, otherwise why didnt he play in 2011 here and was mediocre in 2012? Just like Burrow he got better over time here.
But as long as we are calling Max Johnson a

In reality we havent had truly 'shite' qb play since Anthony Jennings in 2014. He was pretty awful that season, 48.9% completion, 118 QB rating, 11 TD to 7 INT. That's awful.
We have had a good amount of seasons where guys simply didnt stand out, but they weren't 'shite' seasons. Guys like Brandon Harris, Danny Etling...guys who we basically just wanted to manage games and not screw up much. Etling even had a surprisingly decent 2015 season with a 153 QB rating, 60% completion. 2018 Joe Burrow falls into that category even as well.
Max Johnson was certainly nothing special, but his season last year also wasnt "shite" either with a 60% completion and 144 QB rating.
I can agree especially under Miles we had a lot of QBs just never really stand out, very good or very bad. Certainly some truly bad seasons in there, like Jennings in 2014, but way more average/mediocre ones than anything.

It's a little awkward when you realize that QB's from Louisiana have won 9 superbowls to the 3 that QB's from Texas have won.

Not going to argue that point. All I know is Tommy Hodson ruined my 10 year homecoming reunion at South Lafourche.
