Does anyone think Ole Miss could replace him with someone better…?
He is in a perfect spot…developed a solid program, not good enough for any of the big boys to come calling…he’ll be there forever

All of those coaches did eventually take a nose dive and have a losing season or losing seasons (especially Nutt who won 1 SEC game in his last two years there). Lane isn't worth 9 million, but so far, he at least has Ole Miss at a decently competitive level without really bottoming out.
However, this would have been a perfect year for Ole Miss to possibly win the West for the first time ever with no dominant teams playing in the division. Ole Miss looked like crap yesterday and Lane's coaching wasn't good either. He just isn't taking that next step that Ole Miss is paying him to do.

Fair but all of them at least won some bigger games than Kiffin has. At least up to this point. Kiffin might not lose to Memphis but he can't beat Bama. He has a chance to beat LSU this week which would easily be his biggest win, but Kelly even dating back to their USC/ND days has gotten the better of him more often than not.
But we'll see. If he can't beat LSU then I don't want to hear how dangerous Ole Miss is "because they have Kiffin" until we have real empirical data that supports such a claim. How many games has he won as the underdog? I'm not saying he should lose his job, never have, I just ask that people look at him more objectively instead of fawning over how witty he is on twitter and acting like Ole Miss is a Vandy level program where it's impossible to win at as an excuse to make him look better

Ole Miss will never, never, ever, never find a guy who can use the portal like Lane, and if you know anything about Ole Miss football, its 90% about the off season.
