Don't forget that 2011 was the first REMATCH for the title in BCS history.

What set that up? A plane crash on Thursday night involving the women's basketball coaches for Oklahoma St. back in October. Rather than allow the University and football team to grieve the losses (Oklite requested the game be rescheduled), the Big XII ordered them to play football the next night (Friday night), with heavy hearts. Lost to ISU in 3-OT.

BCS computers had OSU graded the #2 team in country. But voters voted Bama the #2 team in country.

The rest is history.

Add in ethanl comment and you've summed it up.

Beat bama at their home with a team that arguably had the best regular season in history...undefeated. Only to be rewarded with a fricking rematch against the only team that could beat them.

We generate excitement. It's the reason y'all came to an LSU site.

2003 - Hey let's win the national title... but let's split the title with USC, because just winning it outright would be too normal. 2007 - Time to win the national title again, but let's do it with 2 losses, something that hasn't been done in like 50 years. 2011 - Let's be the first SEC team to lose the BCS title game, and while we're at it let's do it by shutout, the only shutout in all 72 BCS games 2015/16 - To hell with our schedule, let's cancel games, play games in wrong stadiums, postpone games, whatever. Oh let's also fire our coach, but not like most programs fire their coach, let's fire him, but then change our mind and not fire and then change our mind again fire him 4 games into the next season... right after losing a game we had won on the last play, only actually really lost. Why must everything involving you be such a catastrophe?
