Why does everyone assume Oregon is automatically in with a win?

If they beat Washington they'll be 12-1. Most of the media seems to have conceded that Oregon will get in with a win. Why should they automatically get in over a one loss Bama or Texas? Seems like that should be a vigorous debate but media thinks it's a foregone conclusion. And yes I know the media sucks.

They've played one of the easiest schedules of any team in the top 25

They shouldn't be above Texas and Bama

Who automatically assumes that?

Who else won? Who else lost?

And Oregon and Texas has a common opponent. Texas tech.

Oregon won by 8 with a 20 point come from behind 4th quarter.

Texas had arch manning in the game. Texas won by 50.

They're 11-1, and avenging the only loss they have. If they win, its knocking off the 12-0 #3 team.

Very hard to keep them out if Oregon wins.

Not really when they have only played two top 50 teams. This is the media heads wanting the Pac12 to have a last meal before they are put down humanly by the SEC in the playoffs... again

Because it negates their loss to Washington

Probably because of where they’ve been ranked since the first CFP rankings? It ain’t rocket science, committee has wanted a P12 rep all year hell or high water.

Oh i 100% agree, but the committee hasn't cared about that. They have continued to stay in front Texas and Bama even though both of those teams have a much tougher SOS.

I think the only way Oregon wins and is left out, is if Texas wins and Bama beats Georgia and FSU loses. Then i think you have to put Bama in (SEC Champ), If Bama goes then so does Texas (H2H) and i don't see them choosing Oregon over Georgia.

So that would leave
1.Michigan
2.Texas
3.Bama
4.Georgia

Them v. Texas would be a debate.

Texas beat Alabama @ Alabama. If they have the same record on Sunday, Alabama is not jumping Texas.

Because for whatever reason the committee continues to talk about their margin of victory over their opponents even though they say that doesn't factor into their equation

It all started with them blowing out what was then a wildly overrated Colorado in week 4 (finished 4-8 lol)

Alabama beating Georgia would be the best regular season win in several years. That would trump the head to head IMO.

Texas' biggest obstacle, imo, is that 3 out of their last 4 games look like struggle wins against relatively weaker competition. I am not making an argument for any teams to be in or out. Just saying what the optics are.

Because they will get in and deserve it honestly.
