ummm no its not. Not even close and if you truly feel that way, this (football) is simply not worth it.

Look I get your upset and yes some of our fans are way to serious about it. We are just like everybody else. The point is the vast majority of folks dont take it that seriously. Now hanging out on a message board may skew your perception of that. This place is full of rabid borderline psychotic folks. (one of the things I enjoy). Think about this week/ UF folks are besides themselves yet they know this thing is cyclical. The Ky fans are living it up and probably putting a dent in the available bourbon supply but its all in good fun. If this stuff affects you to that extreme you might want to take some time off. Im not being snarky but its just a game.

And, one day, if there is no longer college football, we'll find some other reason to get together and have fun. That's fine with me.

Me too. Saltwater fishing is it for me but until Im retired football is an easier gig.

As a MSU fan I can say that there is a good reason Dove season, and the start of hunting season opens up on September 1 pretty much every year.

Its supposed to be fun, not war. I enjoy the winning more than the losing but as long as we are trotting a team out there I will be lighting the grill, icing down the beer and calling friends over for the game.

when schools are willing to sacrifice over a hundred years of tradition for a paycheck or because their feelings got hurt (Texas A&M, Mizzou, Nebraska, etc.), it's hard to blame all the high schoolers for just going to the programs with the most prestige.

Gimme a break.

There were no "hurt feelings" and the paycheck would have been secondary had Texas (with their overinflated egos) not treated their league mates like the Washington Generals to their Globetrotters.

So what are the rest of us playing for?

You have no idea what misery actually is. Tulane is 15-20 years (assuming they don't frick up) from even getting a P5 invite and being in a position to potentially hit the lottery.

Arkansas is going to suck for the foreseeable future.

that being said, games are still a great way to catch up with old college friends, drink too much, bet on games, and hang out in the Ozark mountains.
