But that isn't going to happen for South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, or Vandy.

Mizzou has been one win away from the National title game twice in the last ten years.

Keep your pitiful melt limited to your pitiful school. USCjr.

Put strong coaches at Miamia and FSU. How long is that annual contending thing going to last?

They have FSU in their division, and would face Miami if they won that.

They won't get the Bama reach around with two losses, heck they won't get it if they lose one, and that is the championship (late season).

Plus it will be a lot harder to snag players out of Florida, at least the 5 Stars which are the only ones who matter really.

Man, the Uga fan, the melt that we’ve caused from everyone over yesterday is surely enjoyable.

USC was definitely a title contender in the bowl alliance era but the playoff took that away. Lol.

I dont feel like responding to your sobbing pussy in great detail but small schools have a larger shot today than 20 or 30 years ago because of recruiting.

It used to be blue bloods were the only televised games so they got all of the exposure and as a result a lot of recruits.

Nebraska will never be elite again. ND has issues competing. Michigan cant even win their conference.

Alabama will come down some after Saban. Georgia will have lean years.

Muschamp is a terrible offensive fricking coach and has been his entire career. Stop projecting your lack of a spine on the rest of us.

2007 Mizzou was #1 going into the Big 12 Title game.

2013 a win over Auburn puts Mizzou in the title game.

What's the issue CNB?

People are so damned retarded, it's hard to follow exactly what they want when it comes to college football.

Few teams bothered to even go to bowls = you bitched
More bowls = you bitched
Crown a champion before bowls = you bitched
Crown a champion after bowls = you bitched
All the major bowls are tied to various conference champions = you bitched
BCA is formed so #1 and #2 can meet in a bowl = you bitched
BCS brings the Rose Bowl into the mix for #1 and #2 to play = you bitched
CFP is created to give more teams a chance = you're still bitching

Only 22 different teams have been CFP/BCS/AP/Coach's Poll National Champions since 1968. And that's counting ridiculous "split champions" years and the stupidity of BYU's 1984 season. That's about the max number of teams that will ever have a shot at a national championship and that number is actually lower now because a lot of those champions got to dodge good teams. Now, they have to at least beat two of the top four to be crowned.

It's just for the money. I knew Alabama was in even with the Auburn loss. I also knew that it was going to be Alabama vs Clemson matchup in the first game. Alabama makes the NCAA alot of money.

Right. Because if Ohio State had made it in the CFP instead of Alabama, no one would have watched.

I’m sure I’m in the minority - but I believe you should have to win your conference to be eligible for the CFP. Otherwise what’s the fricking point of conference championship games? Kill conference championships or kill this 4 team system.

the schools in the "higher caste" wont let you buy your way in. The proof of this is what happened to my school. Ole Miss did absolutely nothing that the other tier 1 schools don't do on the regular, but the NCAA infractions committee chairman just happens to be best friends with the head coach of a major tier one squad....combined with a serious little brother syndrome within the mindset of our instate rival, and we were crippled for not knowing our role in the scheme of college football and daring to move to the tier 1 level..

I too, at times, have embraced this CFB nihilism and felt moments of great release and clarity. I began to be amused at all the simpletons who became fixated on something so completely out of their control and how much they let it sway their state of mind. I was now free to put my weekends towards something more progressive. I traded in swearing at the TV and drinking beer for reading novels and exercising.

Then I saw some A&M fan talking trash and all that shite went out the window.

That's harsh and she didn't really deserve that. She's just feeling down today. And "small schools" is a relative term ... the size of the student body has little to do with this.

That's true.

True, true and true.
quote:

Alabama will come down some after Saban.

Maybe, yeah, probably. Saban is smarter than most I think. He may get out if he sees things starting to slip. It's inevitable ... happens to all great coaches eventually. Even the greatest.

Georgia will have lean years.

Not any time soon. Not unless they are cheating and vet caught or something. Dabo will go down for cheating long before anyone else as it stands right now. I'm not sure Kirby has to cheat with all the instage talent he has at his disposal.

Muschamp is a terrible offensive fricking coach ...

He's a head coach, not an OC. He's hired BMac and Werner to handle the offense and they're going to do fine.

... and has been his entire career

He's never been an OC at any point in his career.

I wish she hadn't done that ... but she got it off her chest.

Trust me, Gamecock fans, including Sunbeam, will be back to normal once we get the next win under our belts this coming Saturday and then it's one game at a time just like every other program.

Then we'll do it to you too shortly afterwards and some of y'all will be proning-out.
