But try to spin it as basketball not being as important as baseball like your goal is with this thread.
It’s typical LSU thinking. LSU is complete arse in basketball which means the sport is completely unimportant and irrelevant to other SEC fans.
Also, he probably meant it as a shot at Alabama somehow.

I was one of the guys that always took off work for the first two days of March Madness and now I have not even watched the championship game in 3-4 years.
I'd like to see a graph showing the popularity of March Madness preCovid and postCovid. Its popularity has fallen off a cliff since that postseason was cancelled. Used to always hear about people getting their vasectomies and other minor surgical procedures scheduled in March to stay at the home for a few days and watch games and follow their bracket(s). Now it seems like people schedule those procedures during the Masters or other sporting events other than the NCAA Tourney.

Oklahoma vs aTm didn’t draw a big crowd in Nashville for an 8:30 game? No shite.
Tennessee/Auburn had a good crowd. Ole Miss/Georgia as well. Today’s games will definitely be good crowds with Florida/Kentucky, Tennessee/Vandy and Alabama and Arkansas with the night cap.

As a sport, a lot of people just don't care for basketball. As for OU, right now they are not a basketball school, and haven't been since the early 2000's. Moser has been a disappointment and the fans haven't recovered form the 9 game conference losing streak this season. OU fans are not travelling to Nashville for a .500 team unless they live close.
The Big 12 has become a basketball conference.

Flipped the channel to the Big 12 tournament game going on at the same time, and the arena was packed.
Kansas packed out for a game in Kansas City. Who woulda thunk?

We used to go to the SEC tournament every year when it rotated around to different campuses and other locations. When we went to Nashville it was at Vanderbilt's gymnasium. This year it is in Bridgestone. We've been to Birmingham at the BJCC, Kentucky at Rupp, Tennessee at Thompson-Boling, Orlando, the Georgia Dome and some others. When it started basically alternating between the Georgia Dome and Bridgestone, it sort of lost its luster.

I think all conference tournaments should be at the front end of the season. Basketball, Baseball, Softball, etc ... Kind of like Daytona kicks off the Nascar season, do the same with Conference Tourneys....
Teams would rather not win these to prep and rest for the national tourneys at the end of the season...
At worst in a mid season break, but a huge tourney in the first week of January would be well attended but maybe in smaller venues.

No need to melt about an innocuous thread, SideTaint.
But hurry up and get on one of your alter accounts to post how SideTaint is so smart.

Because, it’s basketball. It takes the least amount of skill among major sports. Genetics and mediocre athleticism can gain you a college scholarship.

If they think we dont care about basketball wait until they see who really cares about baseball.
