yeah we totes should have beaten Alabama in Tuscaloosa last year. If only we would have gone for the two field goals.....with one of them possibly setting a school record for distance.

Why would I assume that? That’s obtuse.

So you agree that it's impossible to predict the outcome going forward after that change of play?

I’m saying that you set yourself up for negative results at the end of a game by being too aggressive in the beginning, as in failing on 4th down instead of taking the points.

It’s the same as being too conservative at the end (TCU v Baylor, Illinois v Michigan).

LSU did it this year against Tennessee. We still lose that game but after we climbed back into it, we had questionable 4th down attempts ( failed) and Tennessee capitalized. We could have gone into half trailing by single digits after a shitty 14-0 start.

It’s an entirely different game at that point.

All I’m saying is that Lane’s aggressive nature potentially costs you a pivotal win.

The same argument can easily be had that his 4th down attempts have extended numerous drives that ended in scoring scenarios. We’ve won several close games that have included successful 4th down attempts.

Your example of 2021 is an absolute joke. We could not stop bama all game and, best case scenario, it’s the difference of 3 points in a blowout. Your 2022 example only holds weight if the remainder of the game goes unchanged with the exception of us being able to tie it with a FG at the end.

You can’t have one without the other.

It’s a far easier argument that his aggressive nature has led to more wins.

He's a "dreamboat" who never stays with one "woman" very long. I wouldn't put it past him to leave Ole Miss for Auburn, then leave Auburn as soon as he reaches his level of incomitance there. All the while fleecing CFB programs that are desperate enough to sleep with him.

14-10? I like to win more than watch offense.

No one ever expects Ole Miss in Atlanta

He’s a good OC. He’s going to win you some games. Scoring is generally not a problem both for or against him. That tends to be “exciting” for the people watching.

He’s not the type of coach to build a long term successful program though.

Ummmmm.....he's never been anywhere long enough to build a long term successful program. The facts are, hiring Kiffin gives some people hope, but they all ended up at the same exact place. A few wins against mediocre teams and some "moral victories". The trophy case is barren.

I can’t, in conscience, argue against this because he hasn’t shown us more than 8-10 win results. But if he can build us to a consistent 8-10 win program before leaving then that’s a massive step for us.

I still stand by my statement that he hasn’t shown us to be worth $9mill a year regardless of if he’s coaching us or auburn.

We’re raising his salary for to not leave rather than rewarding based upon results.

Ole Miss fans love him because he’s building us into a bit more of a consistent program(read: winning seasons).

Really think that has been just as much about the west not being as good as they normally are than it has to do with anything Kiffin is actually doing at Ole Miss.

LSU under Orgeron the last 2 years was garbage. A&M has been garbage. Auburn has been garbage. Those are teams ole miss should never beat on a regular basis based off money, facilities, recruiting, etc.

And LSU the last few years under Miles wasn’t exactly spectacular either.

Auburn is an up and down team.

What’s A&M done outside of having Johnny Football?

If he plays well enough at AU for someone to poach him it means we're in the playoff in the hunt for titles so I'm OK with that trade.

On one had you say he's a bad coach and poor hire
On the other hand you say someone is going to want to poach him

Make up your mind. getting her.

He’s saucey on Twitter, slays coeds and is and is Daniel Tosh’s twin. That’s all I can think of because it sure as hell isn’t all the winning he’s done as a head coach.
