Why did the NCAA change eligibility rules in June?

They could have changed them in February and included class of 2022 or changed them in November and excluded class of 2022. Either way, players would have known their real options in time to make informed decisions.

Because the NCAA is a lost puppy in all of this. They are not equipped to manage hundreds of schools in multiple sports.

The decision to only exclude the 2022 class from the 5 for 5 rule is an all time dumbfrick decision. All of this could have been avoided. Its not fair to the current players, the 2022 players, the coaches or the fans. This is all so dumb.

The crazy thing is if they wanted to exclude them, all they had to do was wait 4 months when their 5th year would have already ended. Still gives class of 2023 enough time to decide if they want the extra year. But no, can’t do anything the easy way.

Exactly. It really is the NCAA’s fault.
How could they not see this issue coming by announcing the new rule in June when 2022 players already entered the draft after thinking they were out of eligibility.

The NCAA didn't screw them.
You change a rule and it becomes effective from that date. The previous decisions were already made. It has to be cut off at some point. They declared it started with the next class.
The judge is the dumbass.

Because that's not how shite works. You and others suggest the players are entitled to something they simple are not entitled too.
They made the rule when it came time to review the rules.
There was 0 issue with it, the timing and what not when they did so. It started next year, not the previous year and that was that.
Until some fricktard decides he's entitled to it. Then some fricktard activist judge gets involved and now we're here in this fricktard situation where existing rules are being ignored to accomdate the fricktards.
And you celebrate it because you think getting some players who were cut from NFL teams as UDFA gives you a better chance to win.
It's no wonder the sport is being torn to shite.

UDFA level players are still better than probably 2/3 CFB players.

And for some reason the NCAA is being blamed for it rather than the judge that opened it up without any real clue on the sport and what the ruling meant. As if the NCAA was somehow doing these kids dirty by passing a rule after they left.
