Neither of them had any business winning the Heisman either. Their schools were the reason why. Schools like AM don't have the luxury.
Ingram may be an argument, but where you alive when Tebow won? Dude had a monster year and carried that team. He accounted for 55 TD's that season. Are you serious when you say he "really had any buisness winning the Hiesman"? That team also lost 4 games that year so that kinda blows up that theory.

Funny, seems like aTm fans are the only ones buying it "just being fun" like Sumlin wants to say. Everyone saw that exactly what it was for - heisman pub in a game nobody would have talked about otherwise. Definitely bush league.
Sumlin's still not letting him talk to the media. If he's so hellbent on getting him the Heisman, then why isn't he allowing Manziel to do that. You really think that he's like "we're putting this thing in the bag with an extra point!"

Probably because he doesnt let freshmen talk to media? Lots of coaches have that policy.
Seriously LMAO @ aTm fans think that was "just for fun" when it just so happened to be their QB in a heisman race in a game nobody would have said 1 word about otherwise.

You are completely accurate with this statement, there was NOTHING else to talk about for this game ... haven't heard a single mention about him becoming the first Freshman to go 3000/1000 ... oh wait ... retard.

Funny how you keep repeating this when there has been more talk about him setting a Freshman record than his missed PAT.

Correct, nobody has said a word about this game in the media except for the fact Sumlin pulled a bush league move trying to get his heisman race QB mentioned 1 more week.
JFF could have passed for 400 yards and ran for another 200 with 8 TDs and nobody would have given 2 shits.

And look which game we're talking about right now.
Wrap your brain around the fact that it was simultaneously for fun and a Heisman stunt. Also, quit whining.

Maybe in Aggie fantasy land

and ESPN but you know don't let a 2 second blurp in a 1 minute spot on the game get in the way of facts.

IMO just wanting to get more attention for JFF
Sure it was. JFF wasn't going to get on TV against SHSU unless he threw for 400 and rushed for 150 and THEN they would have said he was only out there to run the score up and pad his stats. The guy played 2 plays in the second half. A pass for a TD and the extra point try. He sat out the rest of the game. Would have been a nice PR stunt if he made it. Still worked somewhat, that miss was on ESPN and just about every sports broadcast I saw.
In other news...
Sumlin said that even with the miss on the extra point, there was no noticeable drop off in our kicking game. Our kicking game this year has been horrible. If Manziel missed his next 5 extra points, he would still be in 2nd on missed extra points on our team.
Publicity stunt, nothing more and nothing less. Get over it and move on.

Obviously, that's my point...if he's trying to drum up publicity, that would be the easiest way, not "OMG OUR QB MADE AN EXTRA POINT!!"

My post had NOTHING to do with my aTm hate. Of which I've set aside for the short-term.
My post had everything to do with you making a TERRIBLE analogy. Charles fricking Woodson was playing offense bc he was a BEAST.
Unlike the other posters I'm trying to help you understand how fricking terrible your "analogy" was. In your mind were the Cowboys doing the same as Sumlin when Deion played both ways?

Good for you--don't set it aside for too long, though

That explanation makes ZERO sense. My point was a Heisman candidate playing out of position to garner further publicity. Yes, Woodson was a beast (I'm a huge UM fan), but let's not sit here and pretend that he played a little offense his Heisman year ONLY because of that fact.

I'm sorry, is there a Heisman award in the NFL? That's as far as my comparison was meant to go.

but that was un-SEC-like. Better than that
We don't conform to the SEC's arbitrary standards of decency. We'll handle our program, including decisions pertaining to innocuous PR stunts, in a manner according to the Aggie standard.
If that makes you whine and bleed all over a message board, have at it.
Just spare the sanctimonious drivel.

Gotta let your nuts hang. Sam was a bunch of jelly bitches grabbing nuts and shite.
Different angle here. This could also be viewed as something to deflect negative attention from Bertolet. Maybe Sumlin wanted the crowd to see someone else miss an XP so the crowd would get off Bertolet.
