Let's try not to be childish here, okay.

LSU is obviously one of the schools where it is possible to build a program that contends for national titles year in and year out. They have done it. A&M has not. And yet Jimbo obviously thinks it is happening at A&M, or he never would have refused a raise from LSU to stay at A&M.

I know most of this board prays to baby Jesus that he fails, all the more because he scorned your school twice, once to stay at FSU and once to stay at A&M. Others of you (non LSU fans) want him to fail because you hate to think that A&M might take a spot in the elite that you want your school to take. I get it.

You'll pretend. "He's terrible! So glad he said no! He's done nothing!" Some of you might even manage to convince yourselves of what you desperately want to believe. But deep down, you know better.

My hunch is that Jimbo wants A&M to be his last stop. He's 56 and his contract guarantees he'll be rich enough to burn at wet mule walking at the end, whatever that end might be. No reason to jump around when you're going to make an insane amount of money no matter what, especially when you're older.

Most of my friends consider me to be pretty redneck but I have no idea what this means.

Because a perennial 8-4 coach isn’t acceptable at Lsu. He is safe in Cancellation Station

Why a person might choose to burn a soaking wet thousand-pound mule is anybody’s guess, but the expression was made famous (in some circles) when legendary Louisiana governor Huey Long used it in reference to deep-pocketed nemesis Standard Oil.

During the Chad Morris era, Jimbo never beat the Hogs by more than 7. Both years, Arkansas had the ball with a chance to tie/win the game with the last possession.

Jimbo is overrated.

LSU was waiting to hire a vaunted, tested and trialed coach like Brian Kelly.

A few reasons but not all

- A&M has better facilities/stadium
- Infinity better hospital care with nearby Houston for his son
- Better land/outdoor/hunting opportunities
- Baton Rouge is trashy as hell

Your stadium is a joke. Tiger Stadium is much better.
I take it you have never been hunting in Louisiana
College Station is in the middle of absolute fricking no where.

Go frick yourself, multiple times, while watching your team choke.

The answer is that he can coast at A&M, and as long as there is a semblance of hope we will pay him. Best job in America if you think about it

It really is

You guys have all the resources so it's always possible to luck into a title but the expectations aren't nearly as high as in other places, especially in the SEC.
