Yep, and that breaks a kicker. It’s one thing to embarrass a middle linebacker because he bitched out instead of going toe to toe with a RB with a head full of steam, or chewing out a receiver because they jumped offside, etc. Kicking a football is like shooting a free throw: the less you have going through your head, the better. You practice it a million times so it’s straight muscle memory. Chewing out a kicker after a miss makes as much sense as a coach calling a timeout to chew out a kid for missing the first of two free throws.

And people want to criticize O for the post Bama game comment? I am sure much worse has been said by a lot of coaches, including Saban. This just confirms it. And actually is much worse.

Note that it was this same philosophy of starting QB as holder that got Matt Mauck hurt on the fake FG at UF in '02.
Mauck got hurt on a regular offensive play. A zone read type play where the QB was keeping with a 20 point lead. FYI Blain Bech was the holder and scored a TD in that game on a fake FG.

His kickers have missed 101 FGs since he has been at Bama. That is unreal for all the games and championships they have won

Heard Saban does not like giving scholarships to kickers.

You are correct. I had forgotten this.

Exactly ...
Saban is GETTING INSIDE their heads and f-ing with them ... FEAR FACTOR
That’s poor coaching ...
LOOK AT GREAT COACHING COMPARISON ...
Oeaux had York issues early ... He handled it with lotsa TLC and York stopped missing kicks and has even hit two 50+ yarders in consecutive weeks ...
Think York wouldn’t put a 55 yarder through with a NC on the line ... He’d do it for his coaches LOVE ...
Not that Filthy little maggot Saban giving the STONE TREATMENT to his kickers and even intimidating them ... NEGATIVITY kills
Please, nobody tell this nutsack this ...

Skyler DeLong was the 4th rated punter in the class of 2018, and Auburn's punter was 6th. Go figure.

Are there any more Tiffins available? The Carsons keep coming to Auburn

Lot of wrong information in here
(1) We've given tons of kickers scholarships. It's a regular thing. I don't know what he did at LSU, but that's not how he has operated at Alabama.
(2) Saban treats kickers like fragile china. He never yells at them, never talks bad about them, makes every excuse on planet earth for them, gets mad at the media and fans for daring to ask why they can't make extra points. If anything, he's way TOO soft on them, especially in comparison to everyone else in the organization. Kickers are quite literally the only group of individuals in the entire operation that are handles with kid gloves all the time. Skyler DeLong quite literally averaged 29 yards per punt over a 1+ years and Saban didn't yell at him on the sideline for over 15 games of it. He talked about how good he was and how he was about to turn a corner every time he was asked about it.

Meh. Dabo had the worst ever meltdown with his punter after faking a punt a couple of years ago, even going over to the punter sitting on the bench several plays later to rip him a new one, yet everyone always slobbers all over Dabo's knob over how much he loves his players.

He did the same thing to his kicker this year mid-season after he missed a chip shot.

101 missed kicks under Saban, worst in the FBS.

Their kickers are scared of getting murdered by Bama fans.

Definitely this.

Saban doesnt see the value in giving the dodge challenger to a kicker...even if it's a used one from the last guy to enter the portal
