Then why did you say I was talking about 2011? I was discussing the op.

Why don't you try paying attention to whom you're replying? That was Cheeseburger Eddie that said that, not me.

Although I was thinking the same thing he said.

Because there actually has to be a game...or in this case, a final four...to actually determine the champion. So by default, there will be three teams that get in that AREN"T the best team in the country. And the committee is selecting the best four teams...which is not at all the same as selecting the best four conference champions.

If you aren't the best team in the sec, how can you be the best team in the country? If you aren't the best team in your own conference, how have you earned the right to be the best team in the country?

I'm sorry it's hard keeping with all this delusion in here. I'm sure you don't want conference champions either. 2 sec title in 15 years. But congrats on winning some exhibition game that is in no way an ncaa fbs title, that bama had to back into. Its funny because you can't back into the seccg. Thats why the sec title is harder to win than the bcs title. You cant finish 2nd in the west and get into the seccg.

Love yall. Stay white

That is the catch. The SEC championship has no direct effect in regard to the national title race. The BCS had a set of rules for determining who got in and so does the 4 team playoff. Being a conference champ isn't one of them. I and many others don't think it should be for the various reasons already stated.

- as many have also said the best teams don't always win the championship in lots of cases. Easiest recent example being the NY Football Giants

I think your question has already been answered in this thread. Got another question for you. If you are the best team in the country why does it matter who you play? Regardless if they are Conference Champion or not. Beat the best to be the best and if you can't beat the best then your not the best. Its just that simple. If you have to beat a team twice then you beat that team twice. Since we now have a playoff you may have to get use to the idea that teams will play each other more than once, it will eventually happen.

OK...let me try to explain this again...really slowly.

There is only one "best team in the country".

There are four teams that have to be selected.

Three teams by default, will not be the best team in the country.

If you're the champion of your conference, but you lost to the #2 team in another conference, what right do you have to play for the national championship?

If you aren't the best team in your conference, you still may be better than all the other conference champions. Maybe you even played them and beat the other conference champions.

If that conference champion really is, as you say, the best team in the country, they'll beat that non-champion again.

If you arent the best team in your conference you shouldn't have a shite at being the best team in the country. Youre dumb. Not being the best team in your conference means you arent the best team in the country. Its impossible to be the best team in the country and not be the best team in your conf.

And right on cue, you go full stupid, as we all knew you would at some point.

Every single team in the NCAA FBS, as represented by every single conference commissioner, is part of the College Football Playoff. Trying to argue that it's just an exhibition game because the words NCAA may not be on the trophy is really pretty moronic. Every single NCAA FBS president, athletic director, and head coach recognize this as the national championship of college football. Every. Single. One.

Fact.

But JaxTiger10 doesn't.

This is gump logic at its finest. Hey I know you already beat me and youre the best team in our conference, but hey you need to do it again.wow.

I think my post above pretty much demonstrates why you're a complete dipshit. I could be arguing with a turnip and it would be a more challenging mental exercise.

We beat Florida twice in 1999

- because that is what the rules in place dictated. Just like they dictated you had to beat us twice in 2011. You seem to want to change the rules, which is fine, however the majority of the country seems to disagree with you.

Who the best team in the BIG 12 if 4 teams were tied with 2 losses each and they don't have a championship game? Whose the best team in the SEC West when 3 teams are tied with one or two losses?

Dipshit logic says that the best team always wins every game.

Give it up. The whole assertion that it's just an exhibition proved to the whole world that you're an idiot.

Dude, give it up.

Because you're full of shite. Your argument is all about 2011, regardless if you want to come to that realization about yourself.

I can assure you, without reservation, if LSU goes undefeated in the SEC regular season, blowing out everyone, then proceeds to lose to an undefeated Georgia in the SECCG, for example, you'll be upset if the selection committee picks a 9-4 Arizona State PAC 12 champion over LSU to be in the playoff.

Again the bcs title game is a BOWL GAME. Its not the NCAA fbs title. You dont seem to understand that. The bcs is nothing more than a bowl system. Its an exhibition just like any other BOWL. Its just has a better trophy. The bcs title does not say NCAA fbs title. Thats is what bama plays. They play ncaa fbs football. They don't play bcs football.that's a fact.

What a fricking moron. Hey, dipshit, here's a newsflash: The BCS doesn't exist any more.

Jesus, did you ride the short bus to school?

I wouldnt/ couldn't bitch because lsu wouldn't be the best team in the sec. So by definition, we can't be the best team in the country.
