Please.

The only thing more inexplicable than our lack of on field success in the 2000s is Petrino's run the last 4 years with the leftovers of the SE.

I know one thing: I'd rather have a coaching problem than some unidentifiable - and seemingly uncurable - recruiting problem. We merely need to find someone who can perform his job at a proportionate level to the talent he has. In order for Arky to have success, the coach will have to always possess rare, demigod-like powers. It's the only way to compensate for the talent deficiency. Sort of like Texas Tech. Just another characteristic - along with patent insecurity - that you share with them.

But I can talk trash about how recruits would rather play for a losing Aggie program than a winning Arky program - despite your close geographic proximity.

And it's not about moral victories. It's about you undertstading your place in college football.

Which is well above Texas A&M.

We averaged more wins than A&M from 1998-2007 (including A&M's BCS bowl game) when we both had shitty coaches and we played in a tougher conference. Don't see why they use that as an excuse. It's not like they were a better program before petrino either.

You missed a bunch of guys that went to other schools. There is easily over 20 Arkansas born players in the NFL currently.

Yes, but you're eliding over the deeper point here.

There's something innately distasteful and repulsive about your state, school, etc. How else do you explain the reality that nobody wants to go there? This despite a very strong 4 year run. And a location bordering two of the most talent rich states in the union.

That's what this about -- your stagnant place in the afterthoughts of recruits. It's not changing. You've maximized Arky football. And recruits are of course the most significant indication of where a program stands. After all, they get to pick where to go.

Sucks to be forgotten, eh?

right, because it has nothing to do with geographical locations of our schools.

but tell me again about how many elite out of state athletes flock to A&M

You tell me, you're the one who's 2nd in your own state and fled the conference when Texas flexed their muscle and got their own TV deal.

Not my state, and what do you mean no one wants to go there? Texas A&M has 30 players in the NFL currently, Arkansas has 29. Seems like the talent is pretty close to me.

No I mean 7th in the SEC when you look at the actual star/point average. Looking at recruiting rankings in August is pointless because classes like A&M's are rated higher than they are most likely going to end up due to having way more commits than most schools. Your class average, which is a better measure at this point, has you 7th in the SEC. Whether or not the schools above you can maintain their current pace is the question. If they do then you will finish 7th overall.

You border Texas and Louisiana. You're not exactly Idaho, here.

Terrible excuse.

Whatever advantage we have in numbers is viscerated by our undervalued guys.

We have 5 2013 kids who should be 4 stars on offer lists alone. JJ Gustafson, Kyrion Parker, Regge Chevis, Brett Wade, and James White.

Easy 4 star guys.

So no, your preemptive defense doesn't really hold water.
