Good OP. It's spot on. And it's gonna get bad for those guys. Mizzou will find themselves at Vanderbilt bad levels, but without the academic accolades.
Those protests and shite did a whole lot more damage than they are even willing to face themselves. With the football program tanking enrollment is going to go even farther down.
Mizzou is now at rent-a-win status after having won the division both their first two years.
It's unbelievable. And it just goes to show that they are simply not a cultural fit in this conference. Chewed up and shite out with a quickness.

Decades?
I dont think its that bad. Mizzou donors are setting fundraising records and Mizzou is closing on 100 million in Athletics revenue.
Once we chase Barry Odom out of town we have to make a big hire, maybe the most important hire since Gary Pinkel almost 20 years ago.
Mizzou has had it's up and downs, but during the Faurot, Devine, and Pinkel years we were a national brand.
With the basketball program back on track we HAVE to make a splash hire this winter.
As long as we're getting those SEC paychecks and our donors keep pumping money into the program, I will keep hope.
And to these Texas queers, how do you suck so bad with 5 star recruits and bottomless funds? Mizzou does a lot with very little, you do absolutely shite with everything. You're like that rich kid who takes over his dad's business and bankrupts it. Go schedule a rematch with Maryland.

Hyperbole is the currency of the Rant, but I do think that's mizzou could be in for many rebuilding years due to their current situation. One bad thing about the SEC is the margin for error is smaller so it's not hard to get glued to the floor if you hit rock bottom (just ask the Gamecocks). It can take a lot of patience to rebuild a program if you have to do it based on talent scouting and not the "Hey I am a famous coach in your state come here" that too many SEC teams take for granted.
Not even shite talk (except the required hyperbole): If I was a Mizzou fan I would be questioning if it would be worth it. Maybe a better use of resources is to dump the SEC Network $ into the basketball program and try to become the clear #2 best program in the conference. Everyone keeps chasing the same slice of pie that Nick Saban eats 90% of in college football but the SEC basketball field is wide open except for team, and I bet they would appreciate a rival worth a crap in conference.
I will say this- you can't buy wins in football so it makes it harder to have a clear path to success. Us Aggies have learned that the hard way.
I wish y'all luck!

Right coach needs roughly 3-4 years to put a program back together granted he has the resources and support he needs. I dont think it would take the right coach very long to fix our offense. The defense would be a full rebuild, how Odom has destroyed it I really have no idea.
We are putting money into basketball, we pay our basketball coach twice as much as our football coach, our Arena is very modern, and we have great facilities. Cuonzo is already lining up another good recruiting class. I think Mizzou is about to go on a great 5 year run.

Except that Arkansas's spot.

We like it when Mizzou sucks. That gives Kentucky three pretty much guaranteed wins in the SEC; mizzou, vandy and USCe. Add wins against Miss St and Ole Miss plus a straight flush (i.e. A win against GA, FLA or TN) and UK goes to Atlanta!

Eh. You'll have to revisit that opinion after this season. Arkansas is gonna give Kentucky all they can handle.

Texas talent
We have been hearing about this for a while now epecting fireworks but seeing nothing but a hollow thud.
Look uo both TX and A&M's stats vs the lowly MS schools over the last decade or two decades or even three, and it appears TX talent is nothing but a myth, look like Tarzan, play like Jane.
I don't mean that as a slam but every Texan spouts off about this and there is little evidence to back it up.

Mizzou's worst basketball teams over the last 3 years have been able to beat Arkansas.
I think we'll see a very competitive league this year.

Missouri needs to realize the hard place they are in and clean house. Fire Odom now, name someone interim for the remainder of 2017 and then go out and take a chance on a hot young name like Brohm at Purdue or Fleck at Minnesota or Morris at SMU if a bidding war doesn't erupt for him. There are good young coaches out there. Go find one and give him his shot. What have you got to lose? You already suck worse than Ole Miss.

Missouri has no historical ties to the SEC. To try and pigeonhole the school into those of the deep South was a mistake.
Solid bull shite and very typical tRant. Then our fellow "boarder state" Kentucky should not be in the SEC also. You do not know crap about Missourah or it's history. The seeds of our hatred for kansas started BEFORE the Civil War when Missourah was admitted to the Union as a slave state. There is a star on the Stars and Bars for Missourah. My dad grew cotton and I have chopped and picked it. Sure, Missourah has yankees. Frickin' Florida is full of 'em. East Tennessee was full of yankees during the war. Missourah was third in Civil War battles with Virginia and Tennessee at 1 & 2. Missourah ran bloody then and we still don't always get along today. We're a big river state just like MS, TN, LA, KY and arky. We enjoy flushing our crapper and sending it your way.
The "Deep" South Conference would only be MS, AL, LA, SC and GA schools. So you need to kick-out TX, arky, TN, KY, FL and MO schools.
Mizzou's historical ties to the SEC football was playing y'all in mainly bowl games and beating you.
Just because we are not next door to you in your small little world, doesn't mean we don't have ties to the South. Even watching the first half of the movie "Outlaw Josey Wales" would give your uninformed brain some perspective.
