Dang, looking for some place to have dinner tonight. I try to stay out of WLR as much as possible!

Little Rock's 50-55k fans thump Razorback Stadium's 70k fans when it comes to consistent crowd noise. At War Memorial, the fans try to impact the game from the onset and aren't waiting for something good to happen in order to erupt. When Fayetteville has a big game though, like Bama '10, the crowd is awesome, but it takes a big game to get that crowd as electric as War Memorial's consistently is.

I think starting to close in Razorback Stadium will increase the noise. It would also help if we moved our band in RRS

I just gotta disagree. Saying Little Rock fans are just more into it than Fayetteville fans is all in your head.

The only time WMR is crazy is the LSU game, just the way Bama games are crazy at RRS

And if i recall correctly there isn't a revenue descepency with the ULM game in LR becuse we get to pay them alot less than playing in Fayetteville. its a result of them using it as a home game for attendance purposes, so the money loss issue is a wash at least for this game. I could be wrong though.

Well, and we're going to the Glen Campbell concert tonight, so WLR is in the slightly wrong direction.

Alright, hijack over, carry on with the GSD...

So just think how the financials would work if we worked out that deal in RRS?

No, it's not at all. At War Memorial, the whole crowd is together packed in tight, there's no jumbotron taking attention away from the field, and the fans are generally more liquored up and rowdy. In Fayetteville, the crowd is sectioned off all over (upper deck, boxes, club seats, upper student section), and the tailgating setup doesn't allow for a huge party atmosphere like Little Rock does. Fayetteville crowd is more of a go there to be seen crowd, whereas Little Rock is more of a go there to party crowd. Not all of this is a positive for Little Rock and a negative for Fayetteville, it's just how it is and why the crowd in Little Rock is consistently more into the game.

Texas A&M fan bashing a Sun Belt team...curious

Are you a complete idiot or do you just play one online?

Why the hell would an out of state Sun Belt team be a big draw?

Use your brain.

Honest question...I thought the reason we could have the deal in the first place was because it wasn't on our on-campus stadium. Can you have an "away" game at your on-campus stadium?

I don't go to games to watch the opponent, I go to watch my favorite team. Doesn't matter who we are playing, I'm there for Arkansas vs. _____.

I don't know the terms or if an "away" game can be on-campus. Someone could FOIA it...

Division 1 Manual, Section 20.9.7.2

"For the purposes of satisfying the scheduling requirement, a contest shall be considered a home contest if it is played in the stadium in which an institution conducts at least 50 percent of its home contests. In addition, an institution may use one home contest against a Football Bowl Subdivision member conducted at a neutral site to satisfy the home-game requirement."

edit: I will note that it says that applies to the scheduling requirement and that the same note is not on the attendance requirement, however you are going into f'ed up land if you let some other school use your stadium as the home team against you.

ok so what? I go to every A&M game I can but I'm not going to begrudge people who don't want to pay full price for a glorified scrimmage at a stadium that apparently is a major dog.
