We didn’t lose to Alabama the entire time I was in college, but I’ve been rooting for Alabama my whole life, so even this seven game losing streak doesn’t make me feel different.

Jealousy. LSU fans had irrational hate towards USC during the Pete Carroll days too and USC wasn't even a rival.

It went both ways. Fact is, we should've played them in the BCSCG instead of OU that had just gotten destroyed in their last game. Wish we would've. We very well may have lost, but it would've settled the debate. We definitely belonged in the game, as evidenced by Jason White's corpse on the Superdome field.

I believe there is a segment of LSU fans who are mad that Alabama replaced them as the dominant program in the West and Bama did so with a former LSU coach. Quite often, Alabama’s success has come at the expense of LSU. In the process, they’ve seen their program trend downward slightly over the last decade. They try to rationalize all of it by advocating that Alabama’s success is completely artificial (scheduling, REC, SEC Offices, refs, etc.)

I don’t think all LSU fans are like this, but there’s a healthy amount and you can see it on this board.

there was absolutely nothing irrational about it. the media was being completely stupid. what was irrational was to remove sos from the bcs formula.

"artificial"

yeah there's never been any threads on the rant by fans from various schools pointing out how it's actually real. look, i can admit bama is the best but to think the tide haven't been getting any help is just laughably naive

I hear ya. I mean really, it's not like we had to beat them twice and they only had to beat us once

It's how the chips fell. Why the hell would it matter who you played for the championship? You beat them once, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do it again. Do you hear any AU fans bitching about UGA rematch? Nope. It's mostly LSU fans bitching on behalf of AU. It was championship rematch, it really doesn't matter, as the stakes change at that point. I just think most LSU fans are giant pussies, just being honest.

No matter how you attempt to frame it, they are not the same. UGA and Auburn played their way to the SECCG, each representing their respective divisions. The fact that they played each other earlier in the season is not relevant. That was a matter of cross-division scheduling. They would have played regardless. Bama did not win their division much less their conference and yet they got a chance for a re-match in the NCG. Actually openly begged for it. It rendered the regular season matchup (9-6) meaningless. The better argument to make is they were the second best team in the country. That is an argument that actually has some validity. Comparing the UGA-Auburn situation is ludicrous.

Because their daddy left them. They hate him, yet still want his approval. They are a lot like most gals at the strip joint.

Jeezzzz... tell it to FSU vs Florida in 1996 and Auburn vs Georgia this year. It wasn't fair that Auburn had to play Georgia in the GEORGIA DOME after they won in regular season. They should have played Okie State.

God, LSU fans and their never ending hurt, paranoia, conspiracy theories, and isolation from the real world. It is quite amazing.

Saban. And it has nothing to do with what he has done at Bama Or 21-0. They were mad as HEEEELLLLLL the day he signed with Bama. They knew, as we did, He was the best college coach out there and now they didn't have him. Him not being great with the dolphins was ok. They thought what he did at LSU was going to make the public see them as a special program..They wanted to believe they were a special program. That it wasn't Saban that made LSU great but LSU made saban great. That LSU had always been special and they felt good about themselves when we all knew Saban was the greatest college coach and it wasn't the program, it was the coach. LSU fans knew when Bama signed Saban what was coming.

First it was the Bear and now Saban. LSU has a lot of reason to hate Alabama. Even if you're an older fan it's all you've ever known is Bama reeling off some ridiculous winnpercentage against LSU. I do think over time a lot of the older fans came to respect Bryant. I don't think Saban due to his LSU ties will ever be truly respected.

Really? I don't hear anyone saying they hate Saban. It's definitely respect, for bringing us out of the 90s and you have to admire what he's done at bama. But we hate the bama winning thing, that isn't something we're ever going to embrace.

And Bama played their way to the NC game also. They were selected. SEC rules dictated LSU play a final game, and luckily you did, because at least you have something to show for the season. Also, are you suggesting Bama wasn't the second best team? They won 21-0 against a team most LSU fans think was one of their best ever!!! Who else should have played? Do you wish for a lower skilled/quality opponent just so you can call yourself a champion without actually being one? Sometimes the two best teams reside in the same conference.

Is it? Auburn blew UGA out, the rematch decided who played for the national title. The rematch was a championship game. I apologise LSU has permanent rectal trauma from Bama, but you guys need to fricking get over it. Sheesh.

No they did not. They had their chance at home to prove they were the best and they lost 9-6. Instead they successfully lobbied for another chance while other teams played through that weekend. They sat at home and took a bye while others worked for a chance to play in that game.

If you want to make an honest argument, I would say Bama was the best team, period. That LSU actually fluked their way to a win. That Nick Saban choked that game away. That does not change the fact that when they had a chance Bama lost.

A team that they had not already played (and beaten).

Absolutely agree.

It is good to see that you at least abandoned the UGA-Auburn argument.
