There are about 10-15 programs that, absent some mitigating factors, its unrealistic to expect to be able to hire their coach away. LSU, UF, UT, uta, UGA, A&M, Bama, maybe USCe in the SEC. Other that that, it's only maybe ND and Michigan and OSU and Penn State and maybe Oregon where that is still true. Maybe Clemson and Miami, maybe?

Not looking for a fight. Just thought it was interesting that Clark Lea's name is mentioned for both LSU and Florida jobs and yet Kirby isn't on either list.

Kirby is retiring after UGA or NFL.

I haven’t seen Lea mentioned on the private gator board I post on.
Getting a good coach to leave the team he played it seems like an uphill battle and it doesn’t seem appropriate to unload the brinks truck for him. Maybe the money isn’t even a factor for him.

Oof.
I am thinking ForeverGator is triggered here. Much like your lack of understanding on how NIL/Portal has changed CFB now, your lack of understanding how states change in education is also on display. Mississippi is a shining star in the future of education and many states are looking to learn from what they have done.

Because both schools are going after your coach.

People just think that everybody wants to coach their team. Why would Kirby leave the university he attended and played ball at to go coach a team that he has zero ties with?
Some of you people are delusional as hell

Haven't heard that on Florida's behalf. But if I was the coach, I would much rather live and coach in Gainesville than Baton Rouge. And all things being considered, I believe Florida's football history and tradition rivals any of the top programs. It hasn't been lately, but everything works in cycles.

Agreed. He's built something pretty nice at Vandy. Just wondering if it was the perfect storm with Pavia or will it be sustainable after he gets a couple more years of eligibility.

Because Kirby won’t burn Georgia bridges …. all that is wishful thinking

And the team he hates with a passion.
Spurrier level hatred for GA equivalent.
This game every year he looks forward to kicking their arse more than any other.

Nobody is offering Kirby 15 million. There’s some guys you don’t ask because why waste your time? He’s staying at UGA because he’s a legend there already

If he said that then he’s silly.
This thread is just a troll started out of frustration anyway.
I don’t know a soul that has mentioned Kirby at all for these two open spots. Other than OP.
