Not really. Still a 50-50 shot without the shoe throw.

There is no way Florida loses to Kentucky. I still remember how awful their offense was against Ole Miss, aka the worst defense in the SEC.They will not score enough to keep up.

In the bowl game

Yeah, the bowl game where our air raid offense lost its top four receivers and had one week to practice together.

Also, I don’t mean this to trash talk, but I think the days of the Mullen running QB cobbling together 25 points

We didn't score less than 25 points in 2020 except for the Oklahoma game, and again we lost every single top receiver in a base set (3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 HB) in an air raid offense.

40 a game in 2020.
33.2 points a game in 2019.
35 in 2018.

I think we'll be fine, and again, having a Quarterback that actually fits his system, that his system is built for will be a welcome change.

You misunderstand me. I’ve no complaints about the 2020 offense, it was about as good as you can get. I greatly respect his ability to go outside of his comfort zone and have tremendous success.

I’m talking about the running qb days he had at Moo state. 10 years ago that was a great offense to run. But with the rule changes everyone is moving to the wide open vertical passing game. Yet Mullen is likely reverting back to the power spread. It’s not a terrible offense, he will get his points. The problem is elite offenses are scoring almost every drive they don’t turn the ball over now. In the SEC we had games last year with one punt. The only way to keep up with offenses like this is to have a high hit-rate yourself. Power spread has a good hit rate, but not high enough. That’s what I’m saying. He accidentally struck gold last year and is forced to move away from it due to his recruiting QBs with questionable accuracy.

This is Jimbo's problem except his offense is far more outdated than Mullen's.

It's more of a pro style spread with very little spread.

Mullen finally has a running Quarterback at Florida, which is also very nice. He made a QB that didn't fit his system a Heisman Contender, so now that he has someone that can run that system it's pretty nice.

Can he throw well? Can he take the 3rd and 1 up the gut pounding for a full season?

Judging Mullen for struggling with 2* QBs at Mississippi State isn't really fair.

I think the same. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Kentucky in the top 10 and heading to Atlanta.

We scored 40 on ole miss which is pretty high for us considering our offensive woes. But our offense should be ten times better with our new OC. If we even have above average QB play then look out. Number one pass defense in the conference the past two years. Defense never worries me. We just need some form of a vertical passing attack.

Well they will be better than LSU, though that isn't much of an accomplishment these days. They don't exactly play a bunch of good teams in the East either.

They went 8-4 with an historically good offense.
Their defense might have been worse than their offense was great. It was BAD.

That said, I’m on the fence with them this year.

They didn’t just lose some really good players on offense. Pitts and that other dude were nightmare mismatches for college players to defend. Especially when on the field at that same time. Nearly impossible to defend and Trask was GREAT at getting them the ball. The other players complemented the offense really well too.

Losing that entire dynamic should prove nearly impossible to replace.
