Pitman has been great, but they’re still 3-6.

Saban, Mullen, Jimbo, or Drink...right?

And unless UF beats Alabama, you can’t pick Mullen over Jimbo.

If Missouri can bear UGA, I think Drink should get it. It not, pick either Saban or Jimbo. (Unless Tenn beats A&M or Florida beats Alabama.)

If they lose to Alabama, you can’t justify that. Worse record than Jimbo, loss to Jimbo, came into the season with a higher ranked team than Jimbo.

bullshite

It's way past time for these COTY awards to stop being fricking participation awards.

His 5 wins have been against the following:

1. A first-year coach of a team with a shitty record.
2. A shitty team that fired their coach.
3. Another shitty team that fired their coach...with a girl kicker.
4. A shitty Kentucky team.
5. The shittiest LSU team of this century.

His five wins are over teams that are a combined 12-33. I'd like for just one person to point out the big fricking accomplishment in that record.

I don't care if he beats Georgia 77-7. The winner of the SECCG deserves it.

Jimbo for sure. No one in the SEC outside of College Station thought they’d be #5 in the country this deep in the season.

You make a strong case, but they don’t just go to the winner of the championship game. They’re coaching awards, not recruiting awards.

Given most projected them to go 0-10 and be maybe the worst P5 team in America, you could still make an argument for Pittman. At least relative to what his preseason expectations were.

I’d probably vote for Mullen or Jimbo, though. Saban can get the recruiting award every year, but anyone could win with the roster he’s assembled. It doesn’t take much gameday skill to win with Sarkisian calling plays for that roster.

Ok, I'll rephrase, since I wasn't specific enough for you to figure out what I mean:

Either Saban or Mullen should get it. No one else deserves it.

Hardly. I get pissed at the voters who vote for people who don't deserve it.

Leach/Stoops for playing games even when they didn't have the players to do so.

That's pretty cool, and should be rewarded.

I know it's a hot take, but I've got too much skin in the game.

Pittman should 100% get it. In a normal year this is a 6-6 or 7-5 which would have shattered preseason expectations for this team considering we were on a 20 game losing streak and no one thought Pittman would stop that. However, coaches with losing records aren’t getting this award so he’s severely hampered by the toughest schedule in the league. Therefore, Jimbo, who is also deserving, will get the win.

What?loads of folks were predicting a top 10 year for AtM and expecting them to contend. Same with Mullen and Florida

I believe A&M had more starters coming back than any other SEC teams.

They're sitting right where most folks thought they'd be especially with LSU being a shite show and Aubie being average.

Nothing to see here

Did the board think LSU would be generationally bad before the season though? Easy to say that now but I’d need to see your preseason rankings first.
